Sects are basically Groups of Kindred made up in Clans with a common ideology. The Sects themselves are a modern contrivance.The Sects as a whole came into existance after the Great Anarch Revolt and the Inquisition which struck Europe in the 15th century.Before the Great Anarch Revolt the Kindred didnt form Sects some Kindred argue this is still true.

THE CAMARILLA:

This is the Largest of the Sects.The Camarilla concerns itself with the Masquerade and is an open society usually the Camarilla Claims all Kindred within its ranks wheather they wish it or not. This Sect is said to have come into existance at the end of the Great Anarch Revolt in the 15th century. Clan Ventrue claim to be instrumental in the creation of this Sect. This Sect was to foil the Inquisition. Half of the 13 main Clans actively participate in the Camarilla's affairs. Reguarly meeting with active clan Primogens in meetings called Convocations which are basically very large Conclaves on the international level. These Convocations are open to all Kindred of the Clans participating however only Justicars can be elected to the Inner Circle which meets to attend to matters of the Traditions. Officially the Camarilla does not recognize Cain nor the Antediluvians it reasons that these kindred if they ever did exist have long suffered the Final Death and any that allude to them are very publicly derided.

 

THE SABBAT:

The Second largest Sect of Kindred Society are The Sabbat. It is rumored that The Sabbat has its Origins in a medieval death Cult. This Sect is greatly feared by those who do not belong to it. Monstrous and Violent to the extreme. Its members no long cling to any morality or human philosophy. The Sabbat actively seeks to overthrow the Traditions and the Camarilla and subject Humankind to nothing more than "Walking Food Products". Unlike the Camarilla the Sabbat recognizes the existence of the Antediluvians and rabidly opposes them. The Sabbat sees the Camarilla as pawns of these Antediluvians. The Telltell mark of the Sabbat is its members love of fire and the Sabbat has a very fearsome reputation for leaving burning wakes behind it. Clan Lasombra is said to be instrumental in the creation of this Sect.

 

GEHENNA CULTS:

Due to the fear of Gehenna to Kindred Society more and more of these Cults are coming into existance. These Cults exist in both the Camarilla and the Sabbat however strangely are more common in the Camarilla. Their function is to either serve the Antediluvians thus avoiding destruction or finding the Antediluvians hidden havens and striking first to prevent Gehenna outright.

 

THE INNCONU

Not technically a Sect, the Innconu are basically kindred who are of like mind they no longer wish to be puppets of older than they and have dropped out of the Jyhad altogether. The Innconu keep there distance from other kindred. The Innconu are thought to be Ancient kindred either those that have reached Golconda or have spent alot of time in torpor to avoid the Jyhad. Kindred that do encounter the Innconu are left with a feeling of profound awe. The Innconu have and indomal organization and communicate very well with other Innconu thou their aganda within Kindred Society is unknown if it exists at all
