Sir Treno Shadowbuster

The history of Treno, the mighty knight of Kaladim, is a short but interesting one. Born in the Underfoot Temple of Kaladim, Treno spent his earlier years as a squire to the bravest knight in all the land, Sir Balec Holywraith. Balec was a stout dwarven warrior just as Treno was, and had also been blessed with Brell's infinite wisdom and power. Sir Balec was perhaps the greatest warrior the Temple had ever seen, and his deeds were known in all the farthest reaches of Norrath. Sir Balec raised Treno under the belief that all that is evil will perish, and all that is good will triumph. Treno soon began to realize the truth to this belief, and began his crusade as a demon slayer.

He traveled alongside Sir Balec on many of his adventures, felling many an evil creature that plagued Norrath. Sir Balec was Treno's idol. Everything that the young knight did was a mimic of his mighty role model. Treno followed him wherever he went, all the time learning new things about his Brell-given power and his destiny to vanquish evil. Although Sir Balec's power was immense, and Treno was beginning to become quite the strong knight himself, there was one adventure that nearly brought an end to both of the brave knights of Brell.

While they were deep in the bowels of the Estate of Unrest vanquishing the restless undead that plagued it, the two encountered the spirit of a deceased knight of Brell. The spirit introduced himself as Garanel Ruksif, and at this point Sir Balec's mouth dropped to the floor. When Treno asked Sir Balec about the identity of this Garanel Ruksif character, he was given a most shocking answer.

"This is Sir Garanel Ruksif, founder of the Underfoot Temple," Sir Balec replied, still in a daze from being face to face with the deceased founder of his home.

When Treno heard this, he too was shocked. They both dropped to their knees immediately, and paid homage to the mighty Sir Garanel Ruksif. But the two were answered with a swift and powerful kick from the deceased knight that sent them both flying against the wall. And then, the spirit spoke again.

"Through death, I have changed my ways of kindness and honor, I am now a child of the mighty Cazic-Thule, lord of the Underworld!"

With these words, the spirit leapt at the two unsuspecting knights, with his axe raised to strike, while bellowing a fierce war cry. The duo were left with no choice but to fight the spirit of the one they once called "Father" to save their souls from the Cazic-Thule's hateful hands.

The duo sprung at the spirit from either side, striking a blow, and then parrying the counter-blow. The battle raged on for thirty minutes, and the two young knights were beginning to succumb to Garanel's fierce and unrelenting blows. The two were not hopeful for survival as they continued combating the minion of Cazic-Thule, but the young knights had yet to unleash the power of Brell. They both fell to their knee's, and began to pray for the banishment of their mighty foe, so that they may continue their crusade against evil. Garanel stood back and gawked at the knight's attempt to defeat him, and he totally overlooked the infinite power of Brell's mighty fist. And as soon as Garanel finally realized that his afterlife was coming to an end, he was struck by a mighty force from the Heavens, and his lifeless spirit vanished into thing air.

The two proud knights rode back to the Citadel of Kaladim, where their story was told. The tale quickly spread through Kaladim, and eventually all throughout Norrath. They had many other famous exploits, and more stories were told and passed on for generations. The two became known as "The Ghoul's Bane Twins" as their story spread further and further. Even today, bard's still sing songs and tell tales of the mighty Ghoul's Bane Twins.  The two continue their crusade against evil, even to this day. And with every blow they land to the limb of a foul demon, they come closer to fulfilling the will of Brell.
