One of two orphaned children, Linz and his brother Nlail were raised in Neriak the great dark Elven City. They were taken in by an ancient order of dark priests that served the dark god Innoruuk. During their youth, Nlail found comfort within the temple, and was regarded as a gifted child. He was to become a great cleric in the evil order of Innoruuk's children. Linz however, was more fortunate as his soul was not so easily corrupted. The priests could see that his will would not bend to conform to their evil ways, and was to be killed in the name of Innoruuk, by his brothers hand as a ritual of ascention. Luckily, Linz found out before the event was to take place, and was able to escape. Although his life was saved, he would not have an easy road to travel. Being as young as he was, he was not able to find work as a mercenary. Therefore he was left to fend for himself, on the streets of Neriak. He there learned many survival skills, later to become great roguish tools.

His spirits, not broken by his early hardships. He was able to find humour in his surroundings, and enjoyed playing pranks on the order of priests that once tried to end his young life. He held no grudges against his brother, for he knew the ways of Innoruuk. Linz knew that one-day he would win back his brothers respect by ascending into greatness, by attaining stature and respect amongst an army of great warriors. That is something Nlail could not dispute, was great power. If Linz ever wanted to be able to stand at his brothers side again, he would have to gain stature in places where Innoruuk held no power. Hence Linz pledged to his last breath to fight for honor amongst the ranks of the House of Wargoth.
