Hail and well met! I am Arrack, son of Kharas, of the Hammerfell Clan. I am a
consecrated priest of Brell Serillis, the Duke of Below. I grew up in the
dwarven city of Kaladim, where the torchlit halls echo with the pure music of
the ringing of our hammers against the steel that we forge in the earth's fires
that Brell has given to us. My memories of those sounds sustain me as I
trudge through this harsh world aboveground, as do thoughts of dark autumn ale
and the warmth of a forge fire on my face.
My mother Merith is also one of Brell's faithful. My father is one of the
Stormguard, as was his father before him. I have a brother as
well, named Moratt. When he comes of age, he will join my father in the
Stormguard, as I felt Brell's call at an early age, and cannot
follow in my sire's bootsteps myself.
Since I was sworn to the life of a cleric, I have fought numerous battles
against many different enemies. I have vanquished foul orcs in Crushbone, the
horrifying undead in the Estate of Unrest, and the darkly evil Sarnak horde. In
every conflict, I have seen the
nightmare of the encroaching darkness, and with every victory, I find renewed
strength to continue the fight against that darkness. One day, While battling
undead in Unrest, I met a curious fellow who told me of a group of honorable
people who fought for balance. Intrigued, I asked him to tell me more of these
people. It was then that I was first introduced to the House of Wargoth, and it
was then that I found a group of people with whom I could entwine my destiny. I
have never had a regret since.
The Hammerfell Clan has a long and proud tradition. Every dwarf in the Clan,
male and female, strives to uphold our standards of
dedication to the clan's motto of "Honor Earned in Humble Service". I am proud
to now carry the honor of my ancestors on my shoulders, and I will justify their
honor by reflecting it within myself. As long as I do that, it doesn't matter
whether I live or die, because I will live or die within the light of my clan's
honor, and no dwarf can ask for more than that.
