Now, here is some truth to the matter:

†You cannot "turn" or be turned into a vampyre. There is not this special chemical we have in our blood that can be transferred to others. We are born this way, it just takes a while for us to realize it.

***You cannot be "turned" into a vampyre if you:

† Use magick, or magik. This includes spells, rituals, contracts, pacts,
money,or trade(as in selling your soul).

† Sell you soul to the devil or someone who says they can give it to you in exchange for your soul.

† Believe anyone who says, "I can turn you into a vampyre if you do this for me....."

† Start living the lifestyle. If you are not a vampyre, but engage in drinking blood, buying or having custom fangs made for you, dressing in black(hee hee hee), sleeping during the day, staying out of the sun so you get really pale, sleeping in a coffin, etc etc, all the other media affiliations with vampyres. This is called a Vampyre Lifestyler, someone who loves vampyres, but is not one, and lives according to myths to try to feed their hunger for the life.

† Have a group of followers who believe you are a vampyre. This usually happens when you go around telling everyone in the free world you are a vampyre. This does not make you a vampyre, only a deceiver.

†If you are not a vampyre, you cannot judge that someone is a vampyre merely by their appearance. There are a lot of gothic people and vampiric lifestylers out there that are not vampyres. I have seen vampyres that do not look like what I am used to seeing.

†Just because someone dresses in black and other darker colors and adorns plastic polymer or dental enamel teeth does not mean they are a vampyre. See above.

†Most of the time, we can recognize others as vampyres. I have had a few times where I saw someone on the street and as soon as our eyes locked, we knew we were looking at our own. Usually this is accompanied by a large grin, a few friendly words and then a goodbye. And to this day, I have never forgotten one face of my own I have encountered.

†Most vampyres, all that I know of, and some I am not sure about but claim to be, do not catch common viruses. I am talking about colds, flus, etc etc..... In my case, and if you know anything about blood readings you will know what I am talking about: The numerical values of my blood as far as the chicken pox, measles, polio, mumps and other little nasty annoyances are high enough that I am immune to them, but low enough that I have never been vaccinated for them nor exposed to them. Yes, and I find it very funny to watch my doctor scratch his head over that one....

†We have nasty food allergies. This comes from our bodies becoming so adapted to the consumption of blood, which is our natural state of being, that we begin rejecting what is bad for us. This is usually dairy produts and bi-products there of.

†Opinion: drinking blood for me is better than an orgasm. I won't go into that....

†Even if you are male, we all get PMS. Crankiness, tired, bitchy, and sometimes cramps. This comes from you-know-what.....not feeding. And even if you have a donor already, two is always better than one. Hell, make it three, just to be safe.

†We see and feel differently than humans. We have the gift of seeing and feeling beauty in all. We can feel your hate, your love, and your fear as blood runs over our tongues. We can taste all that you have seen. We can feel all that you have enjoyed. And the best part is, we know how to take you down. Kind of.....spooky, isn't it?

†And the biggest truth:

You see us everyday, and we know you and who you are.

Vampyres do not turn into bats! I do not understand why it seems that we were sporatically created out of the media's hunger for all things "dark", for everything anyone has a fear of. And perhaps an even type of crowd control…,"if you are like this, you will be hated….."

We do not turn to ash at the morning dawn. Our bodies are not so sensitive that mere light kills us. But, we are very sensitive to light. The best analogy I can think of is when you are sleeping at night and you jump up and turn the light on, and that searing pain behind your eyeballs makes them water, I think that is pretty close to what I am talking about. Although, I must admite, the sunlight does weaken us, but that is because our physical body is much more sensitive to elements than the "normal" person; i.e. cold, heat, snow, sunburns last forever, some are photosensitive, and our senses are much much keener than non-vampyres; and I can say that when I do go out, especially at morning light, I feel like a zombie. But, it does not kill me....at least I thinkI am still alive... *giggle*.Aren't we supposed to be so strong that only a stake through the heart and beheading kills us?……which brings me to my next point…..

We are not immortal, most of us at least. Most of the vampyre populous you will come into contact with will not be immortal, although there are still a few ancestors flying around. We have souls and flowing blood just like…….well, I guess the majority of the populous. I am sure that some would argue, but, this is all coming from personal experience. And, who knows, maybe I am immortal. I have just not faced death yet…..

If a vampyre bites you, you do not turn into a vampyre! Okay, I think this is the most abused legend. Just because someone sinks their teeth into you does not mean that this "miraculous" change is going to occur within you and thus, you becoming like your hunter. That just does not happen. Vampyres are born vampyres. They contain some sort of trait which differs them from the rest of the species. And I say species because I believe that there is no dominant race. And it is the awakening that brings them to their complete state of being, in and out.

We do not have to sleep in coffins to prevent being perished during the daytime. I think this one is ridiculous. Yes, coffins are beautiful and lovely, but they are not necessary for our survival, although everyone needs a good coffee table-you do not have to sleep in it.

Crosses do not keep us away from you. We are not damned nor condemned, even though we feel this way sometimes; We did not stab a cross with a sword and drink the blood of Christ, and *bang*, were taken out of God's grace. And like many vamps I know, majority are atheists, so how can something they do not believe in hurt them??????

†We'll just shorten this down with a small list: holy water, rites of exorcism, crosses(as mentioned above), readings from the bible, holy wafers, holy coins, and anything make-shift to represent a religious object; such as a cross made out of tongue depressors......you know what movie I am talking about........Will not harm us, hurt us, or repel us. Seems we have this nasty little image created by the media.......

some of us grow fangs. But, for the majority, we do not. There are traits that we have lost with crossbreeding, many of them, and they cannot be regained.

we do not have control over the elements, such as wind and rain, even though I am sure some would dispute.... We are VAMPYRES, not witches. We drink blood, that is what makes us who we are. Now, in different cases, vampyres are very very psychic and power with their mind. Many of the things I write here that cannot happen, can. But, they are not a given into birth. It takes hard work and dedication to what you are. What I am merely saying is that if a vampyre wanted it to rain over the entire planet......sorry, it won't work.

And that is all I have to say for now. If you can think of any others, let me know.

†I do regret to tell all of you out there that want to be "turned", it will not happen. Unless you already have it, you cannot become what you are not.

It seems that there are many things out there, especially with the popularity of RPG's that can confuse many of us. Especially the media. In all truth, we are not as "cool" as we are portrayed, we are boring in our own ways. And just like the rest, we have to get jobs, make money, and pay bills, and if we choose, support a family. We have responsibilities just like the rest, but what we do with our spare time is our business.

Being a vampyre is not as glamourous as many think. It is lonely. I mean, yes, we may have many friends, but as to how many of them are like us, is few if any. We have to deal with a hunger that will never be quenched. We never get tired of it. We deal with guilt and loss differently, for our is forever. We are built on what we are, everything we do affects our lives when it comes to our vampyrism.

And, if you look at it from a religious aspect: What will happen to us when we die. I was not brought up in a religious home, although when I came to an age of awareness, I decided to try it. Walking into a church was like walking into a courtroom to be tried for murder. All eyes were on me, my black attire, my sad look. But, I did it just to be sure. I had to know what would happen. And as soon as I stepped across the threshhold, I became weak and nausea overcame me. I am not saying that we are damned, because we cannot help what we are. I tried to ignore it, I tried to pretend that I did not crave blood and that church made me happy. I went a year and a half without the life. A year and a half that I lost. And in the end, who I am, my own self identity asked me what the hell I was doing. I had even been baptized. And I knew, this is who I was, and that I need to be strong enough to work through this. At this moment in my life, I have never felt so whole.

I do not believe we are damned for what we cannot help. And who knows, maybe we are not as evil as we think we are. Maybe we are the mouths of truth.
