I feel I need to start this newsletter with introducing myself. My name is Deb Dicks and I volunteered to write the newsletter for SIG-B. I am a new member
who had damage to my eyes in a work accident. If you need to contact me about information you would like in the newsletter. Please feel free to do so.
Over 20 people attended the November 9, 2005 meeting. Three new ladies attended, Florence Larson, Dora McHenry, and Darlene Miller. Also Dan, Duane, and
Vince Strohman from “We Care Wheelchair” van service came and introduced their new van service to the group. They have 3 vans that pick up people right
at their door. SIG-B would love to welcome these new people and would love to have many more visitors too.
SIG-B has had many donations this past month. The Evening Lion’s Club donated $75 to the group. Greg will be sending them a thank you. Kimberly Kotter from
KTFC radio station would like to donate Christian books on tapes. Darcy volunteered to pick them up. Sandy Castleberry has donated a CC TV to SIG-B. It
was in memory of her late husband Ken Castleberry, who was a member for many years. Samuel Hallowell has a donation from his mother Betty Hallowell. She
was a long time member and a former secretary for SIG-B. Betty passed away last year. Darcie will contact him.
In October a bake sale was held at the mall to raise money for SIG-B. $180 was raised. Thanks to all who helped with that fundraiser. Members of SIG-B
have been selling Younkers coupons. November 19th is Younkers Coupon Community Day and the last day to buy coupons. Members of SIG-B will be at the mall
all day to sell coupons. Thanks to all who helped with this event.
Greg Hansen has been doing research on a new computer answering system, the system he found costs about $180. We will discuss more about this at next meeting.
Larry presented a phone number for anyone interested in stopping credit card solicitation. Calling this number will allow you to request credit agencies
to discontinue selling your name to credit card companies. There are two options given, to “Opt out” for five years or to “Opt out” permanently. The number
is 1-888-567-8688.
If anyone is interested in purchasing a pedometer that talks call John Bylin at 239-8680. If you buy three at a time they are $9.99 each, plus $3.99 shipping
and handling.
I would like to remind everyone that the next meeting is at Coyote Canyon, in Morningside, south of Southern Hills Mall on Southern Hills Drive, on December
14th, 2005. This is the Christmas Party and everyone in SIG-B is invited. It will last from 12:00- 3:00. We will have lunch, a short meeting, and open
gifts. If you are a lady, bring a ladies gift and if a guy, bring a guys gift, you only need to spend $5. If you don’t want to bring a gift, than we ask
that you don’t take a gift in the exchange. The cost of the meal is $6.80 for seniors, which includes the tip. For non-seniors the cost is $7.56. If you
