My Cancer Surviving Team: Survival Update on Flora Crew

I was diagnosed with stage iv colon cancer in April of 2011, had surgery but had to wait three months before chemo because I didn’t have insurance but did not know how to get Medicaid coverage. I think this website might help other people in the same predicament. I have also been looking at other websites that deal with colon cancer. There is one by a young man in his twenties who had stage ii and undertook changing his diet with no chemo. In fact chemo is not recommended for stage ii in most of the literature I have seen. I could have references to other websites that involved both professional knowledge and others that involve survivors or others that involve both contributions. This is the beginning of my website with my team. More to come.

Dr. Gruner is the person who operated on me on emergency basis to remove my tumor and resect my colon. This is Dr. Raftery, who visited me in the hospital and strongly suggested that I get follow-up chemoptherapy. This is my psychiatrist, Dr. Turk, who gently pushed me torward getting help for my shortness of breath and weakness. This is Dr. Ghosh, who was my nutrition teacher prior to my finding out the reason I was losing weight was that I had colon cancer. I put to good use the information I got in her class after my diagnosis although I could still use some improvement in my eating habits. This is me on my bike not too long before my diagnosis.
This is a no smoking no drinking no recreational drugs approach to surviving colon cancer!
