Observations of Lucian Adams (Clan Ventrue, Primogen):
When we got the news that the lights went off on the bridge, everyone rushed for the bridge. I felt compelled to follow them - but then decided that this could be a diversion by the Sabbat. Perhaps they were planning the real attack from one of the tunnels. Since Little Italy is near the car tunnel entrance, the Ventrue Clan set up a blockade just in case. We disguised ourselves as a road-work crew, and waited. Nothing happened, so we headed back to the Elysium to get news on the attack.
Just as we entered the Elysium, we heard that the Theater district was under attack by the Sabbat. We rushed there, to find a combat scene ON THE STREET! There were several Camarilla fighting a single Sabbat. I looked down for a moment to attach the silencer to my gun, and when I looked up again, I was the only one still able to see the Sabbat. Apparently, he used some discipline I am not familiar with to disguise himself. Since I wasn't looking when he used it, I was immune. I aimed, fired, and quickly dispatched the Sabbat. I then staked him, just in case he recovered from his wounds and awakened.
Just as I pounded the stake in his chest, as "Super Sabbat" (OOC - whatever that means!) ran toward us, cape flowing in the wind. Francesco and I both fired our guns, and dispatched him with a single round. I didn't think we hit him that hard, but he turned to dust (doesn't sound like a shovel-head to me!). We entered the theater, just as the combat there had ended, and then returned to the Elysium.
Upon entering Elysium, the entire city was scolded by the Brujah elder for our "incompetence" in the battles. I personally did not appreciate his tone. The masquerade breech was easy enough to cover. Really, he should have saved his scolding for the parties who caused the more "hard to explain" breeches (hmmm... let's just say CROCODILE!). I felt the Ventrue were quite smart for setting up a defense near the tunnel. We were ready for the Sabbat; but, they never came. I guess we gave them too much credit in the attack-planning department.
After our scolding was complete, I met with my clan to determine what we could do to help with the masquerade breeches. I then met with Mr. Tran, who seemed very scatter-brained, and told him that the Ventrue would assist in every way possible. I explained we could offer any amount of hush money required. We would also provide assistance in keeping the media silent, and sacrifice a low level mafia group, to take the blame for the battle (going with the "let's blame it on the Italian-triad war in Chicago" scenario). In the middle of my conversation, Mr. Tran began speaking to someone else. I had no time for such rude behavior. I asked Mr. Tran if our conversation was over. Really, Mr. Tran should learn proper manners, and should give respect where respect is due. He had the NERVE to interrupt MY conversation to speak to a neonate! Mr. Tran apologized, and I continued the conversation, rather annoyed.
After I explained how the Ventrue could help the city cover the masquerade breeches, Mr. Tran seemed less than interested in assistance from the Ventrue. I would have thought that any assistance would be valued and appreciated. But, it appears Mr. Tran favors the assistance of other clans over the Ventrue. I hope I am mistaken in my perception of this meeting... After all, the City Advisor position requires one to remain neutral in Clan politics - ESPECIALLY where the security of the city is concerned.
When the meeting with Mr. Tran was complete, I was approached by Dr. Quentin Wu. He said he wanted to meet with me. (I assumed he wished to meet regarding the events that unfolded in Chicago between the Italian Mafia and the Triads.) I told Wu I would be happy to meet with him, and that Francesco (my whip) would be joining us. Wu was adamant that Francesco not be present. I insisted that Francesco would attend the meeting. Elder Tayback was present at the exchange, and offered to write a blood contract, keeping Francesco from acting on any information received in the meeting. I thanked Elder Tayback for the offer, and respectfully declined. Dr. Wu said he was sorry that I did not wish to meet with him, and later told me "you'll be sorry!". I was not quite sure what Wu meant by that... was it a threat? If so, surely Wu does not know who he's dealing with.
Shortly after, I retired for a good days sleep...
