Clannad Rose Stables S/D List
Rules
Because of my busy schedule, I can currently only do three to five breedings a month. Generally, I will do breedings for IPABRA members only, but may do “outside” breedings in special cases. Photo approval is ALWAYS required. All breedings are currenly email and are, therefore, free. In future, I may do mailed certificates.
1) When requesting a breeding, please include the following information on the foal and out of stable parent: name, breed, age, color, markings, sex, make, mold, and the parent(s) requested. Please include out of stable parent's pedigree to great-grandsire (three generations). If you are using a parent from another stable, please include pedigree, name of its owner, and the name of the stable at which it was bred. Please also send me your first and last name and stable name. A photo of the foal MUST be included.
2) Currently, we have a limited number of open mares at service. We will NOT stand our mares to BSO stallions. My mares have a one foal per year limit. No foal transfers, twins, etc. for the public. Please include at least three potential years for your foals when booking a mare. The years listed as open for our mares are the ONLY years open for those mares! Foals from our mares will be listed as bred by Clannad Rose Stables.
3) Please watch color genetics. Certain color genes are required for certain colors and patterns. For example, foals that are grey, roan, dun, and/or champagne, MUST have at least one parent that is the same color as they are. Chestnut x chestnut crosses always create chestnut foals. Breyer frequently lists horses as "gray" when they are actually grulla or blue roan. If you are not sure if this applies to your horse, I will let you know on photo approval. Currently, the American Shire Horse Association recognizes the following colors: Black, brown, bay, grey or chestnut/sorrel (rare) are the preferred colors. Excessive white markings and roaning are undesirable. Further information on Shire body type and other requirements may be found at ASHA Breed Standard.
4) Email clannadrosestables@dublin.com. Please include “Breeding Request” as the subject line.
5) Your foals will receive proper credit when entered in bloodstock classes. By breeding at Clannad Rose you are giving me photo show rights for bloodstock classes ONLY!
6) We accept Breyer and Stone horses in Traditional, Classic, Stablemate, and Paddock Pals sizes. NO Micro-Minis, Grand Champions, or Breyer Ponies unless they have been photo approved, and then probably only on very rare occasions.
7) Italicized horse’s names mean that I would like some form of that to appear in the foal’s name. This is very common with Shires as a breed, and I would like to keep my breedings as realistic as possible.
8) Most of my foundation stock is real horse bred. You will find these noted with an [r]. Models are denoted by [m]. There are NO BSOs at Clannad Rose Stables!
9) You will receive a full color .doc breeding certificate with photo of your foal and full pedigree. I will immediately send you a confirmation email once I have looked over your information letting you know whether or not your breeding is approved. Please allow a couple of days for the finished certificate. I will get it to you as quickly as possible.
Go raibh mille math aghut!
Thank you for visiting Clannad Rose Stables!
