Christian Bale returns as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Heath Ledger is playing The Joker, Maggie Gyllenhaal plays Rachel Dawes, Michael Caine returns to play Alfred Pennyworth, Gary Oldman returns as Lt. James Gordon, Eric Roberts is Salvatore Maroni, Morgan Freeman returns as Lucius Fox, Aaron Eckhart is playing Harvey Dent, Nestor Carbonell is the Mayor and Anthony Michael Hall is in this flick too!

The basic plot is that BATMAN with the help of Lieutenant Jim Gordon (Gary Oldman) and District Attorney Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart) sets out to dismantle the remaining criminal organizations that plague the city streets. The partnership proves to be effective, but they soon find themselves prey to a reign of chaos unleashed by a rising criminal mastermind and vicious killer with a warped sense of humor known only as The Joker (Heath Ledger), a threat to both the good, and the evil of Gotham City.
