ALIAS
Spies in love
American Triangle by Kat Hughes -- This is the first really major piece of fan fiction I've read for this show--as usual, Kat's writing has both style and substance. Trapped by their histories, what can Sydney or any of the men in her life ever know about happy endings?
_____________ by Elizabeth -- It's a Jack story and the narrator is a high-class call girl, and I actually don't have issues with the way either of them are depicted. The insights into both characters and the dynamic between them struck me as highly believable, although if you're looking for happy!smut, this isn't that story. (A couple of little details of the way the nameless prostitute here thinks and does business lack verisimilitude, but that's the kind of thing only I or someone else who'd worked in the sex industry would notice and I wasn't really bothered by it because the overall psychological realism is sufficient for that not to detract from my enjoyment).
For the Love of the Game by Jennifer-Oksana -- Anna thinks about her opposite number, Sydney Bristow. Well done, and I live in hope that Jen will write Anna/Sydney slash one of these days. Or any Alias slash, really. Because there needs to be more slash for this show.
In Step by Nestra -- I have dealt with foot fetishists for a living and do not personally share their fetish, so trust me when I say that despite my complete lack of patience when it comes to the kink in question, this story is so hot. (Similarly, it's probably worth reading for that alone even if you are sick of Sydney/Vaughan or only read slash or whatever).
Airs, waters, places by Vanzetti -- I had been eagerly watching Vanzetti ever since she starting writing in this fandom, and meant to rec her earlier Sark stories Barriers and A Lifetime of Empty Rooms when they first appeared, but I'm glad I waited because this is the long, satisfying casefile that proves yet again that an apprenticeship spent writing X-Files is never a waste... It's set between seasons 2 and 3 and has been--okay, I refuse to use "Abrams" as a verb, so, J.J.ed, maybe--but I think I may like it better than the show's version, because it focuses on Jack, Irina, and Sark and their complicated relationships in a way the show couldn't have with Sydney present and Irina gone. (And it's not linked from her page yet, but if you like Vanzetti's characterizations of them as much as I do and want to see her Sark/Jack slash, you might also want to check out Heavy Water, her entry in the http://vanzetti.populli.net/sarksanta/index.htmSecret Sarkfic Santa project, which contains some other good stories as well).
