Our Nerd isn't exactly a "people person"... to put it mildly. I happen to have years of experience on the matter. That's right, this gal and I were folder partners in the good old Symphonic Choir. It was during this time that I got to know the joys of being punched repeatedly in the arm. It's actually not too bad after the arm becomes numb. During the course of the year, I got to know her better and better. Turns out, she's just a big teddy bear on the inside. Ok, maybe not, but she's not so bad.
Anyhoo, just when we were getting adjusted to a new year of school and the joy of again being folder partners, the unthinkable happened...
"We're gonna switch things a little. Kim, you're now folder partners with JESSICA FRALEY."
The phrase just kept reverberating. How could it be? How could the magic possibly be over? And for God's sake, Fraley? Luckily, there is a happy ending to this story. This Nerd and I still managed to sit by each other, even if we no longer share that darling folder #12. And Fraley, well, we keep her in line.
