LUSH
13th March
The Venue, Edinburgh
support : ?

This was very much a last minute decision. Much as I liked Lush, I was only in Edinburgh by
chance that evening. Glad I decided to go though, 'cos it was a good 'un. Plenty of hits old
and new, and the lovely Emma to look at all night too. The t-shirts weren't too bad, but it
was a choice between one of them, or seeing them again the next night in Glasgow...

LUSH
14th March
The Garage, Glasgow
support : ?

Missed the support again. Maybe it was something to do with spending all day in bed after
my all-nighter around Edinburgh the night before. How could I be expected to turn up in time
after that? As for the main attraction, it was pretty much the same show as the night
before, though I think the Edinburgh crowd just edged it for moshing.

GARBAGE
21st March
The Barrowlands, Glasgow
support : Bis

The much awaited homecoming of Ms. Manson, who, lets be honest, most Scots music fans
had never even heard of in Goodbye Mr. McKenzie. However, here she was, clearly
delighted to be back in front of her punters with her newly found fame. Great show, although
I missed "Trip my wire" 'cos I was in the toilet suffering from a sudden attack of food
poisoning. Drat. The encore with the band wearing the kilts was nice, if a bit predictable,
and this was also the night many of us got our first glimpse of cheeky teen-c heroes Bis, who
promised much with their attitude, if not the actual racket they were making.

DUBSTAR
22nd March
The Garage, Glasgow
support : Definition of Sound

Fourth gig in eight days, ruined only slightly by not being able to drink (doctor's orders). Still,
it was great to see Dubstar again, sounding bigger and mightier with each listen. If only Sarah
would move around a bit sometimes, maybe the crowd would too. But still a great show, didn't
expect to hear fave b-side "If it isn't you", and the crowd were fairly appreciative. Nice black
t-shirt as well, good night.

THROWING MUSES
15th September
The Arches, Glasgow
support : Versus

Okay, this gig was actually cancelled due to complications with Kristin's pregnancy, but
it's worth mentioning because it's the closest I've come to seeing them. Never had any
problem seeing Belly or Tanya Donelly, but it seems i'm fated never to see the other half
of the terrible twosome.

NUT
23rd October
King Tut's Wah Wah Hut, Glasgow
support : Sunhouse

I thought Sunhouse were rubbish, until I found out there were two support bands:the real
Sunhouse were pretty good, best support band I've seen. As for Nut, what a wonderful
voice this wee lass has, thought it might not be as powerful as it sounds on the record, but
she played a blinder, so to speak. The backing band were pretty tight too. Plus I pinched a
set list, so that rounded off a very pleasant evening.
