half-japanese-girls

half-japanese-girls was started in the fall of 1999 by Jonathan Kiedrowski, Jimmy Chan and Vito Spatafora. it wasn't considered a real band by its members. we just all really liked weezer and at that time, we thought that we were the only people on earth that actually liked the weez still. Tom Connors joned the Half-japanese-girls on Drums in the middle of 2000.During the summer of 2000, the HJG took a hiatus when Jon went to work at a camp in New Hampshire. The whole band didn't re-group again until around april 2001. the name half-japanese-girls was taken from a lyric in "El scorcho" that's the only story behind the name. we almost named ourselves WEENER. we all liked the half-japanese-girls name much better so that one stuck. our goal as a band is not to get signed, but we want to play weezer songs better than weezer does in concert and we want to be an ok substitute for all of those fans that can't seem to get tickets to a weezer show(ourselves included)
