How i ended up in Syn*from my point of view*
- Daniel (past drummer) mentioned me to the rest of the guys. it was pretty much like "hey guys..gothy chick plays bass" so i guess they already thought about getting another bassist, and when the oppourtunity came up, they took it. I dunno how daniel found out i played bass, maybe i told him and forget. So one day Daniel came up to me and was like.."hey, you wanna be in our band?" i was thinking...ok, loser. but i gave him my phone number anyway. Once Daniel flaunted the fact that he had my number, Kris realized what daniel could do, so he said he'd call me instead. The 1st time, he thought i hung up on him though. heh.. I met Daniel first, cause he used to ride my bus. the first time Kris called, i couldnt remember who he was. i had met him previously, but i didnt have a face to go w/ the name. then i remembered. "Japan Club guy". Once Kris' calls became more frequent, he started warning me about the other member's. heh.. I knew daniel, I remembered seeing Josh before around school, and i had absolutely no idea who Klay was. But one day when we were in the outside parking lot at school during a firedrill, i seen Kris and went to talk to him, and Josh & Klay were both standing around there too, so i got to meet them. That's when i 1st met Derek too. ; ) So was like...ok. these guys seem cool, i'll try this out. but i warned Kris that i wasnt very good...i guess that didnt matter though. And...yeah!
The 1st Practice: It took me a while to actually be able to go to a practice because i was grounded at the time, but the 1st practice we had with me there, ended up at Klay's house. I was still pretty *shy* around them, even Kris, so i didnt really quite know how to act. i think i pretty much sat on this big black chair and stayed quiet the the entire time. well...i opened up a lil' more once i learned what these people were all about. Daniel wasnt able to make it to that practice though. which.....was ok ; ) They played "Betrayed" 1st, and i remember thinking, whoa...this sounds cool. Then they mighta played a couple other songs, but i dun remember. Then Klay and Kris went off in one corner of the room, cause Klay was teaching Kris guitar, and Josh came over by me and started teaching me. i think he quickly saw that when i said i sucked, i wasnt lying. the 1st thing he attempted to teach me, was tuning. but after 10mins of trying to understand how to do it, i desided i wouldnt have any part of that. heh..so after that we pretty much chilled out for a few hours. but i remember us all being in Klay's room and me and Josh sitting on Klay's bed, and Klay and Kris turned the lights off, shut the door and walked out. We both laughed. *note: kris had a g/f then* Then we went back downstairs and i layed in the chair. i was so incredibly tired cause i think we had practice at like..11 or 12. way too damn early for me...so i slept. but then it started getting dark out and it created a really nice setting. Josh was in a further corner w/ his bass, klay was standing up playing his guitar, and Kris was sitting on this lil' chair w/ his mic. They desided to do a really nice and slow version of "Betrayed". the distotion was off, and Kris wasnt screaming. so i cuddled up in the big black chair and started falling asleep and just as i'm all ready to sleep, i hear Kris whisper "Paper angel" i was quickly woken back up. The distortion went back on, the loud bass thumping started, and Kris started yelling. the tranquility was short lived, but it was really nice. But as i looked around and listened to them play, i realized how much i loved it, and how happy i was for being able to be part of it.
