Act LXVIII
The Final Leap

They continued their journey to Santok. "Oh, my feet are killing me," whined R. Rose.

"We've only been walking for a couple of miles now. Just suck it up and we'll rest soon."

"But I.."

"Shhh!" Kousagi interrupted R. Rose. She could hear something nearby and needed silence.

"What is it?" whispered R. Rose.

"I don't know."

"I don't want to hurt anyone, so please come out slowly," warned Sailor Parallel Moon.

"We don't mean any harm," said a man, coming out from behind a tree. A few people followed behind him.

Kousagi recognized them a little bit, but couldn't remember from where.

"Hey, you look familiar. Aren't you that girl who we traveled through the portal with?" asked the man.

"Yes, I am. How did that even happen? Where did all of you come from? Those blue lights and stuff."

"We're not exactly sure ourselves, but we have some theories. First off, let's introduce ourselves," said the man.

"I am Kousagi and this is Princess Rainbow Rose."

"I am Dr. Sam Beckett and these are my friends Al Calavicci, Alia, Al the bartender and my daughter, Samantha Jo Fuller."

Sam was a gray haired man in his late 50's, Al Calavicci was an old, sickly looking man in his 70's, carrying a strange multi-colored gadget, Al the bartender was a fat, middle-aged man, Alia was a woman in her mid 40's and Samantha was a young woman in her 30's.

"When we were passing through the portal together, I saw more of you. Where are they?" asked Kousagi.

"After a few days of exploring this place, we have found out where they are. They are evil people who leaped here with us," explained Sam.

"Leaped?" asked R. Rose.

"Yeah, leaped; it looks like we have a lot to explain to you. We are from Earth. We are a group of people involved in a project known as quantum leap. It's part of a time travel experiment. For the last 18 years I've been leaping around time, fixing things that went wrong in various people's lives," explained Sam.

"Time travel?" said Kousagi, cynically.

"Listen, I know it's a lot to take in right now, but please here me out," pleaded Sam.

"Fine," said Kousagi.

"As I was saying, I've been leaping around for a long time. We recently have been on a mission to stop some evil people from leaping around in time. While chasing them, we somehow ended up here on this new world. We found their base of operations just a few miles up this road," explained Sam.

Kousagi explained to them about her being a sailor senshi and everything else.

"So it was your power that led us to this new world; your home world. We must've somehow connected with your brainwaves and leapt the same time you traveled here," said Al the bartender.

"Seeing those blue lights around all of you, it almost seemed surreal," said Kousagi.

"When people leap, a blue light surrounds us, taking us to our next destination. Fate, God or whatever has sent us here to this world. There is something we must accomplish here," said Sam.

"Sam, Ziggy says that there's a 92% chance we're here to destroy Lothos and the evil leapers," said Al Calavicci, pushing some buttons on his handheld device.

"Ziggy, Lothos?" asked R. Rose.

"Ziggy is our super computer. It's got a large database of public records of people around the world from 1900 to 1993. Lothos is its evil counterpart. Do you want to see Ziggy? It leaped with us and it's hidden in this forested area," explained Sam.

There were a series of large computers connected together. They had put it under a canopy. The super computer was being powered by a generator.

"I think our meeting here is no coincidence. Could you please help us in fighting the evil leapers just a few miles up this road?" asked Al the bartender.

"We are headed in that direction anyway," said Kousagi.

"How many of those evil leapers are there?" asked R. Rose.

"Based on our estimations, probably no more than ten," answered Alia.

They took turns carrying R. Rose, since she tired easily.

After ten miles of walking, they ascended a grassy hill. "Their base is just over this hill. Let's rest," said Sam.

There were a few sheep grazing about.

Kousagi was getting hungry. "Any of you know how to hunt?" asked Kousagi.

"Don't worry; we'll get something as soon as we get into town," said R. Rose.

"We've been on a diet of acorns and berries. Want some?" asked Alia.

They headed for the tent where the evil ones were. They heard gunfire. "Everyone, retreat!" ordered Sam.

They ran back down the hill. "What was that? They've got firepower?" asked Samantha.

"We should've known. Almost every time we encounter them, they've got firearms," said Al Calavicci.

"If I could get close enough, I could take them out," said Kousagi.

"I have an idea that might work," said R. Rose.

"If I remember correctly, there is a giant, aggressive ram around these parts. If we could get it to chase us towards their base, we could get in while they're distracted."

"They'll shoot the person the ram is chasing," pointed out Kousagi.

"Not necessarily. I could get Ziggy to make a hologram of me, and have the ram chase it towards the base," said Al Calavicci.

"Great idea, Al; I think that will work just fine," said Sam.

The evil leapers were rejoicing inside their tent. There was a black man wearing a copper colored suit and holding a pimp cane. His name was Thames.

"With this security device attached to Lothos' wiring, Dr. Sam Beckett and the others won't be able to stop us. After we kill them, we can get out of this weird place," said Thames.

"It looked like they had some new allies with them," noticed one of the evil leapers.

"We'll kill them, too. Nothing to worry about," assured Thames.

Al got Ziggy to make a hologram to taunt a ram they found. The giant battering ram was grazing, when it noticed a hologram of Al. It started chasing the hologram.

The battering ram chased the hologram up the hill. The ground rumbled.

"What is that? A tremor?" asked Thames.

They looked outside the tent. "Sir, there is a giant ram heading towards us. He is chasing Al."

"Then start shooting at them. I never thought they'd be stupid enough to risk their lives like that," said Thames, laughing.

Their security system fired nonstop at the hologram. "What is this? It must be a hologram. Very clever," realized Thames.

The ram took a lot of bullets. It ran right into the tent, trampling some of the evil leapers to death. It ran right into Lothos, crashing into it before dying.

"Now's our chance," said Samantha.

They entered the tent, fighting and killing off anyone who remained. "Looks like another mission done well, Sam," said Al.

"We couldn't have done it without you. Thank you," said Sam.

"Wait a minute, where's their leader? Where's Thames?" asked Alia.

They heard R. Rose scream. Thames was holding R. Rose captive.

"Let her go!" yelled Sam.

"I'm impressed with you and your friends, Dr. Beckett. If you come any closer, I will kill her."

"I may be weak, but I can still take you on," said R. Rose. She used her rainbow rose vines ability. Thorny, rainbow colored rose vines wrapped around Thames, squeezing him with its thorns. He fell to the ground, wrapped in thorny vines.

"Nice going, R. Rose," said Kousagi.

"Once we kill him, we can go home," said Sam.

"Yeah, and we can finally get into Santok," added Kousagi.

"Did you say you need to get into Santok? There's no way you can get in there. It's guarded by tons of orcs. I know another way in," informed Thames.

"Shut up, you liar," said Alia.

"Fine then; find out for yourselves when you get slaughtered by the orcs."

"We can't leap home until we kill you," said Sam.

"But then your friends wouldn't be able to get into Santok, now would they?" replied Thames.

"Damn. He's right," said Samantha.

"If you are telling the truth, what is the other way of getting in?" asked Al.

"I won't say a word unless you let me go and spare my life."

"Fine, show us the other way to get in," ordered Sam.

"No deal if you are coming along. Only those two can come."

"Sam, Ziggy says that there is an 80% chance that killing him won't send us back home. I guess we just had to destroy Lothos," said Al.

"Then, why haven't we leaped yet? Ask Ziggy," said Sam.

While Al was fidgeting with the multi-colored hand held device, R. Rose released Thames from the vines.

"Sam, Ziggy says that Kousagi is the key to leaping home. It was partly her power which brought us here," said Al.

"We'll leave now. Unless you think you're going to have any problems with him," said Sam.

"We'll be fine. He's no threat," said Kousagi.

"May we have your help in leaping home?" asked Alia.

"Sure, but I don't know what I'm supposed to do. It took my power and that of an ancient device to send us here. I can't do it on my own," replied Kousagi.

"With my power mixed with yours, I believe I can get us to leap back home," said Al the bartender.

"How do we do that?" asked Kousagi.

"Just grab my hand," replied Al the bartender.

He connected with Kousagi's power. "Everyone, grab on to me if you want to leap back home," said Al the bartender.

They held on to him. A blue, electrifying light surrounded them, causing them to vanish. They leaped to Earth, their home world. They found themselves in New Mexico, at their secret scientific research base.

"I'm home Al! I'm finally home!" said Sam, in excitement.

"Welcome home, buddy," said Al.

Sam and Alia started making out.

"Um, dad, did you forget you're married to someone else?" asked Samantha.

"Oh, right. My swiss-cheesed brain is starting to become whole again."

"Wow, that's amazing. So that's how we ended up here in this world, with your power," realized Thames.

"Don't try anything funny," warned Kousagi.

"Of course not."

"Now, where is this other route to get into the city?" asked R. Rose. They followed close behind him.
