Cafeteria Food

Is it safe? Do they follow the recipe? Is there a recipe? These are some of the questions asked by kids standing in line for the sludge affectionately called "hot lunch". Some of it isn't even hot! It tastes (and looks like) it comes from you-don't-want-to-know. It seems as if some kids have had their brains warped by even the fumes of cafeteria lunch! Take Robert, for example, he doesn't eat in the cafeteria, but the fumes make him think that he likes that "slop". But many children have held their sanity. Jane , for example, says, "Tastes wrong, tastes bad, tastes nasty!". Diane said, "It's good enough- to make you vomit!". Alex complains, "The chili and cheese are harder than the fries." Ronald adds, " The hamburger tastes like meatloaf." Marlon compares, "The food tastes like dog food; it's on the same level." Sterling says, "They might as well just paint the food and it would taste the same!" A strange fact we found is that girls were generally more opposed to the evil, nauseating processed meat and the disgustingly crunchy salad than boys. Maybe this is because it looks like Rover's leftover leftovers. Cafeteria "cooks" may try to fool you by saying things like: "The reason we have frozen-heated pizza that tastes pretty dang bad is because it is 'better' for you." WRONG!!!!!!!!!! The actual reason is that it costs almost nothing. It's cheap! I think we should get money for buying "food" that tastes like food. The cafeteria is getting very cheap these days. I think UNICEF should help by donating some money for real food. Edible food. Good food.

This was a report done on cefeteria food by Alex, Cory, Ronald, and Sterling of Mrs. Scher's 5th/6th grade class.
