Phasor Practice

The diagram shows two phasors. Phasor #1 has an amplitude of and a time dependence a = 2p t/T. Phasor #2 has an amplitude of and a time dependence b = 2p t/T + p/12 . The period, T = sec. At t = 1/12 s the phasors are oriented as in the diagram below.

At t = s what are the magnitudes and angles of each phasor and their sum? (Use the ranges 0 to 2p radians and 0 to 360 degrees for the angles.)

You can type 'pi' for the number 3.14159. That is, '2pi/3' is a legal answer.

a) Phasor 1:

  Magnitude =

Angle in radians: a = rad

  Angle in degrees: a = °

b) Phasor 2:

  Magnitude =

Angle in radians: b = rad

  Angle in degrees: b = °

c) Phasor Sum:

  Magnitude =

Angle in radians: q = rad

  Angle in degrees: q = °
