Hello and Welcome. This is a basic users guide to IRC to help you (the user) get started.
I would highly recommend your first step towards chatting on IRC be: getting a REAL script to chat with and get off that java script you are using.
How do you know if you are using java you ask?
Welllll...a big clue would be: if you have to go through a website to chat in the chatroom that led you to this page that means you are using java.
There is a program for download called mIRC that you can easily go and get which will give you access to virtually thousands of chat channels that make up the world of IRC. It is at http://www.mirc.com/
IRC you ask? What is that? What it basically is, and all you really need to know for now is; it means Internet Relay Chat. I mean it...Go get it. If you want more respect in the chatroom and want the regular users to talk to you more; java is not what you should be using.
There are many IRC networks but the one that brought you to my page was probably Webnet.
Webnet is the testing ground for Conference Room software,which is a software sold mostly to businesses. So, with that boring crap outta the way, let's get started.
