Gloom Cookie is fantasy-type "goth" comic by Serena Valentino, and so far two different illustrators, Ted Naifeh and John Gebbia. This comic follows the stories of Lex and her friends, Max, Sebastion, Chrys, Damion, and her enemy, Isabella. The story is told in a fantasy, fairy-tale like way, and is enchanting and captivating to read. CHARACTERS
LEX
. She is the main character in the stories, and at first is in love with Max, but when Max would rather be with Isabella, she meets and falls in love with Damion...who many lifetimes ago was promised to Isabella, but Damion loves Lex.
CHRYS
. She is Lex's best friend, and is also dating Sebastian.
SEBASTIAN
He is dating Chrys, and at the beginning of the story is dealing with the Monster that lives under his bed, and with the strange things going on in his life, like his father looking like Vincent Price, and working with the Carnival Macabre.
MAX
. At the beginning of the comic we are introduced to Lex and Max, who sleep with each other, but that's it. However we learn that Lex is in love with Max, but he doesn't love her back, because he wants Isabella...but as the comic furthers, it seems that maybe Max does love Lex?
DAMION
. He and Lex fall in love and are dating until it is revealed that he is actually a monster (like a gargoyle) and that lifetimes ago he was promised to Isabella. However he is still very much in love with Lex, and wants to be with her....
VERMILLION
. He is a really dorky guy that is in love with Lex, but whom Lex despises. He thinks he has wonderful poetry, but really he sucks at it.
ISABELLA
. She is the 'villian' of the story, who seems to have it in for Lex. Isabella is actually a monster, hidden beneath her beautiful exterior.
