Blue Monday





Blue Monday is by Chynna Clugston-Major, and is an incredibly entertaining and wonderfully illustrated piece of work. I really enjoy this comic a ton :) The story follows the main characters, Bleu, Clover and Erin, and there endevours with their males friends, Alan and Victor. There are two graphic novels out, THE KIDS ARE ALRIGHT, and ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS, as well as two short stories involving the characters called LOVECATS and DEAD MAN'S PARTY.

Lovecats is the mini-story of the gang getting ready for valentine's day and the dance Bleu wants them all to go to. Victor placed a note in what he thought was Clover's locker, but now another girl thinks he's going with her to the dance. Clover doesn't want to go to the dance, and Bleu reminds her of how they met the previous year at the valentine's dance...A romantic comedy episode that's a great read.



Dead Man's Party is the mini-story of the gang and halloween. They meet and tell scary stories weaving themselves into their stories. Bleu is haunted by her old friends, the two headed jesus...what will happen on this frightful night?

CHARACTERS



BLEU L. FINNEGAN Bleu is the main character in this comic, who longs for love, but now with the high school boys. She's in love with Adam Ant, and lusts after her teacher, Mr. Bishop.

CLOVER CONNELLY Clover is Bleu's hot tempered irish best friend. She's funny, loud-mouthed, and doesn't mind telling people off. She plays mean, and acts tough.

ERIN O'NEILL Erin is a friend of Bleu's and then Clover's. The three of them hang out and tortue the boys. Erin definetly likes to stir up some craziness.

ALAN WALSH
Alan is Victor's friend, who is one of the hormone-crazed, perveted teenage boys. He begins to look at Bleu in a different way though...

VICTOR GOMEZ
Victor is Alan's friend, and the two of them like to torture the girls, and look at porn. He likes Clover, but has trouble telling her so...

MR. BISHOP
At first he is Bleu's substitute teacher, and then fills in more permanently. He has a cool car, likes all the right things, so why doesn't he fall for bleu like she wants him too?
