The following
documentation is a copy of a non-fictitious project report generated
by a team of Luminosity employees and myself, serving as project
manager. The project centers on a small video rental establishment
that required a number of computer related business improvements.
The entire report is available to read in the following pages.
Below, I have listed certain skills I used in the project that
may be of particular interest: ·
Project
management: The following example demonstrates my ability
to task, organize and motivate a team. A project of this size,
although relatively small, still required the same attention
to detail and motivation as a larger project. This project also
required a great deal of time and resource management. ·
Writing sample: The document itself serves not only as writing
sample but also, as an example of my overall writing style and
project documentation skills. · Personal computer hardware
knowledge: The project required knowledge of personal computer
software specifications and personal computer hardware repair.
·
Research skills: For this particular project, research and finding
the correct solution were paramount. Given an unclear budget,
my team and I had to construct a suitable business solution
and also be mindful of the lack funding and time resources.
There was little room for error. (This is documented within
the report as well) ·
Interpersonal communication: Dealing with non-computer literate
clients is a major concern. Translating technical jargon into
clear, understandable content was challenging. During this project,
myself and team members dealt with end-users as well as the
systems owner on a daily basis which honed our communication
skills considerably.
