XENOGEARS OST (Import)

It's time for Peter to talk about XENOGEARS again.

I got this CD over the summer. I got another copy just recently. Only know, have I listened to it.

XENOGEARS has been both praised and ridiculed for its music. Why? It is composed of themes and motifs that are replayed to signify emotions, events, cultures, and peoples.

There are those that see it as the same music being used again and again. There are also those that see it used beautifully to shape the tone and nature of the game.

The music is nothing short of brilliant. It is a beautiful score blending both Celtic and traditional Japanese tone and instruments. Yasunori Mitsuda's notes touch something deep inside. They pull at the same forgotten memory that the game's story awakens.

The OST contains virtually every track used in the game. The remix of the Yggdrasil theme and Thames card game music seem to be missing, but there is so much there.

This music will move you.

It is powerful.

From the looming opener, to the innocent Shevat theme, to the tear-jerking finale, BROKEN TWO OF PIECES, this music will hold you.

XENOGEARS teaches you to look beyond what is Known.

XENOGEARS teaches you to ask Why.

XENOGEARS teaches you to see the Grey.

All its themes and all its power have been placed on two discs. For those who have not played this game, it is music. Yet, for those who haven beaten XENOGEARS, the music is an instant key, opening doors to a wealth of knowledge and memories.

We, the wounded, shall advance into the Light.
