XENOGEARS
There is so much I want to tell you about XENOGEARS,
but I can not.
It would not be fair.
I can not sum up 70 hours in simple words.
I want to tell you about Fei.
I want to tell you about Citan.
I want to tell you about Elly.
XENOGEARS in not like any RPG ever made. In many
ways, it is in its own genre.
FFVII, widely recognized as the greatest game ever
made is elegant is design and function, simple to
learn yet complex is capability.
It is the STAR WARS of RPGs.
A staff of 100 created a fully finished and believable
world.
XENOGEARS was not made by a staff of 100. It lacks
the polish of FFVII, but it shares several common
threads. XENOGEARS is a darker, grittier reality. It
also has more of a soul. In FFVII, I fought and
killed Sephiroth because he killed Aeris. I didn't
care about that fact that I was saving the world. In
XENOGEARS, I fought for those who couldn't.
XENOGEARS asks you why are you fighting and what are
you fighting for.
I can talk about FFVII. I can shout about it. I will
be able to do that with FFVIII, too. But, XENOGEARS
is a more intimate experience that will affect you on
a profound personal level.
I've said this before I finished the game and I can
confirm it now.
XENOGEARS is the BABYLON 5 of RPGs.
It is in every way.
From the twists and turns to the seclusion from
society.
FFVII is a timeless simple story. XENOGEARS is a
dangerous story.
Why is it dangerous?
It is different.
It is original.
It asks questions.
It makes you examine your known beliefs.
You will walk away from XENOGEARS changed.
You will carry what you have seen and heard with you.
It will not go away.
It will never go away.
Tremendous awe will be in your soul, forever questioning all that has even been told to you.
Stand tall and shake the heavens.
God only knows.
