South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut
dir: Trey Parker
If it weren't for the car wreck of American
Pie, I would say this is a great damned year
for movies.
My big fear for SP:BL&U was that it would be a
mild retread of the television show and
unable to sustain a two-hour movie. But it wasn't.
It was great, perhaps the funniest movie
I've seen all year.
I won't spoil the plot for you, and I'm sure
you already know a lot about it. It's a
full-blown musical with two songs that are absolutely
immortal now: "Shut Your Fucking
Face, Uncle Fucka" and "What Would Brian Boitano Do?",
the latter containg immortal
couplets like "When Brian Boitano traveled through
time/to the year 3010/he killed the evil
Robot King and saved humanity once again/when Brian
Boitano built the pyramids/he beat
up Kublai Kahn/'Cause Brian Boitano doesn't take shit
from anyone!".
I've said enough. See the damned thing already.
Cartman unleashed, totally
"Akira"-style, at the end is worth the admission
alone.
