ROBOTECH PERFECT COLLECTION SOUNDTRACK ALBUM

Do you know what this is?

Do you know what this is?

This out of print double CD set was released by Harmony Gold and Streamline Pictures on ROBOTECH's 10th anniversary.

This amazing double CD set contains virtually EVERY piece of music in the series.

CD one contains the complete BGM collection. Among the cues and motifs are such favorites as Rick Hunter's theme, Roy Fokker's theme, Minmei's theme, the Zentraedi theme, the love and battle themes, and the full version of the main ROBOTECH theme.

You have not heard any of this before. The broadcast technology of the 1980's did not even begin the capture all the majesty and intricacies of this music. Did you know that there's a snarl drum in the main theme? Did you?

CD one contains two very unique tracks, too. The Invid theme is completely by itself. It's the most unusual track in the set. The closest thing that I've ever heard to it is Chris Franke's Minbari theme.

My favorite of the 42 tracks on the first CD is a nice little piece based on Minmei's "We Will Win". It's a classical piano adaptation of the idol singer's song. I can't say anything to accurately explain or justify it, but it's moving.

CD two contains the complete vocal collection. It contains all of Reba West's work from MACROSS as well as the later talents of Michael Bradley and others.

All of West's Minmei songs are here. All of the songs that helped win the war against the Zentraedi are here. "My Time to Be a Star", "The Man in My Life", "To Be in Love", "It's You", and the unsurmountable "We Will Win" are all contained.

Other highlights from the second CD include Bradley's "Look Up! The Sky is Falling", "Lonely Soldier Boy", and his stirring reprisal of West / Minmei's "We Will Win".

CD two doesn't end there. It also contains several themes from the abandoned ROBOTECH II: THE SENTINELS. These tracks show a new direction in the ROBOTECH legacy, with powerful militaristic and patriotic motifs woven into the themes, all variations of the same melody.

This two CD set contains a total of 66 tracks and has a total running time of an epic 146 minutes and three seconds.

If you're a MACROSS or ROBOTECH fan, this CD set will fill a void that you may not even know you had. Even if you aren't a diehard ROBOTECH otaku, you'll appreciate it. It's a significant part of the history of anime in the US.

Remember, it's out of print, due to the recent mysterious events surrounding Streamline Pictures, so if you can still find it out there, grab it.
