Mercy Point

I finally saw Mercy Point. I finally saw the inspired series everyone is calling the best SF has to offer.

Ok, maybe people have been saying the exact opposite.

I remember what's been said about this show. ER in space. Horrible. Stupid. A waste of time. An hour of my life that I'll never get back.

I just couldn't imagine it being as bad as they have said.

How could it be?

Well, I watched it.

As the opening credits rolled all my fears were confirmed.

Worst show ever.

It truly was ER in space.

But, it was 11 PM and it was either Mercy Point or sleep.

I think you know which one won out.

I watched Mercy Point.

I watched all of it.

And... I enjoyed it.

It was light. It was unassuming. It was ok.

I then watched a second, airing at 12.

I liked it even more.

I know it's horrible.

Humans developing a disease called HS when they are away from Earth for too long? HS standing for Home Sickness? I know. Horrible.

But, when a series has overtly religious undertones, I can't not like it.

Mercy Point.

It's an ok show.

And, well, I like it more than the real ER.

To be honest, it's better than your average episode of Voyager.

Mercy Point.

It's an ok show.
