The Matrix
The Matrix is quickly becoming the DVD equivilant
of "Titanic" --- EVERYBODY has it. It's the biggest
selling DVD in the history of the format. And for a
good reason.
This disc is FULL. To the brims.
The coolest thing about it, for my money, is the
"Follow The White Rabbit" function. As you watch the
movie, a white rabbit occasionally pops up. Press a
button when the rabbit appears, and you can see a
short about how this particular scene was shot. For
example, in Bullet-Time sequences, you can see the
green-screens, and then the camera rigs, the actors
doing their stunts, etc. And then it returns you right
back where you were. Neat.
There are EXHAUSTIVE Behind-The-Scenes stuff, as
well as biographies of cast and crew.
One of the big disappointments is the commentary.
It's Carrie Anne Moss (god she is HOT!!) and some
other dudes. But no Wachowski Brothers! What the
hell is that? Hey, let's make a commenatry track with
folks other than the writers/directors! That's a
smart idea!
Like Austin Powers, there's a bunch more you can
do with a DVD-ROM drive, like the entire script and
storyboards. I think there's some in-depth stuff
about the kung-fu, too. That's nice.
