Life Is Beautiful

Who would have thought a sub-titled comedy about the holocaust would be this life-affirming?

I was expecting this to be good, but not as perfect as it turned out to be. One of those movies you're still reeling from all night and the next day. Driving home, Maeve said that she told her mom that it was "her Titanic". I never saw The Titanic, and I never intend on seeing it, but it's sad that a glossed-over, $200 million Hollywood can become so damned popular. There's not much I can say about this movie or Roberto Benini that hasn't been said. All I can do is plead with you to see this movie. You'll thank me.
