The Family Guy (another gem from Fox)
You know, I was really really prepared to hate this show. I read
an article about the show's creator, and it seemed like one of those bios fabricated by studios to sell the show to a "hip" audience. The
guy is supposedly some 25-year old "maverick" or "wild card". Yeah, uh huh. Sure.
So I watched the show, and, surprise surprise, I actually like it. Some gags were too Simpson-esque, and some gags were just stupid ("G.I. Jew"? c'mon! not offensive, just plain stupid). I gotta say, though, I'm a sucker for Hitler gags. As for the characters, it's kinda like the Simpsons, but not as endearing. Or well-written.
I can't explain why it's good, it just is. And the baby is great. This is one of those show's I'll watch when it's on, but I'm not going out of my way for. I once read that NYPD Blue was the television version of
Homicide:Life On The Street. So I'm going to say that The Family Guy is the cartoon version of The Simpsons.
