Greece Sucks....USA Basketball 3-Peat.... Canada to Legalize?....Remember September 11th, 2001?....
Have you ever played a game on a computer? Have you ever played a game online? Would believe you could be incarcerated for these acts? Two internet cafe owners in Greece had their case thrown out because it was unconstitutional. Legislation passed in July banned people from playing video games in public places like internet cafes as part of a drive to stamp out illegal gambling.
The law has been criticised for not making a distinction between interactive gambling and computer games.
The two internet cafe owners and an employee were charged after police found some of their customers playing online chess and the popular multiplayer game, Counter-Strike. (how bored are the Greek police?) Can you imagine going to jail and paying a $4,000 fine for playing chess. Crazy Euros.....
53-0, that was the record USA basketball had before these world championships using NBA players. Fast forward through their first five games. 58-0. It is more than likely an understatement that the United States basketball team, were feeling more than just a little overconfident before strolling out onto the hardwood against Argentina. But, after the final buzzer, there were some happy Argentinians and some massively confused Americans, 58-1. The loss was "embarassing, we can still win the gold, but we are still that team that lost the first game." said Paul Pierce. And I among the rest of the world felt that this was the wakeup call, they would rebound with a fury of dunks, boards, and fast-break opportunities to show everyone who is the best. Next game, Yugoslavia. Let's admit this right now, they are a good team, they have 9 players that are on NBA teams, they play the game the right way, what can you say.... We still should have won, our team is ALL NBA players 58-2! Spain.... What can you say, they finished 9th in the Olympics. Yet, they went onto a 9-0 run to cap the 6 point victory 58-3. How can this happen people are probably asking. Well, first and foremost, the other teams play the "right way." They move the ball, they have "cutters," they had set plays and ran them well, they used more pick and rolls than Stockton and Malone, and it all worked. Meanwhile the United States played like overpaid, overconfident individuals. When your man sets a pick, and your teammate runs into that pick, what do you do? YOU SWITCH! Why couldn't George Carl get that across? Cuz, every team ran about 900 backdoor cuts, with an overpowering effect on the scoring. Every other country playing for a national team brings pride Vlade is 87 and still dutifully plays, yet, here it seems like it's a carousel of talent. No one wants to play more than they think they should, or more than they need to, to get their medal. It is not about American basketball, it's all about their phat pockets. Hopefully, this will wake up American basketball and we will see the players we all thought we should have seen in the first place. Now, the country that invented basketball with the supposed best players in the world, will have to qualify to get into the Olympics in 2004. ....
A Canadian Senate committee has proposed that Canada legalize marijuana, allow it to be grown by licensed dealers and perhaps be sold in corner stores to people 16 or older. Such a policy would make Canada one of the world’s most tolerant countries toward the drug.
IN A report, the committee found that marijuana was less harmful than alcohol and should not be treated as a criminal problem, but as a public health issue. The report called for amnesty for people convicted of marijuana possession. A study shows that over 800 tons of marijuana are produced in Canada in a year, 60% of which is shipped to the United States for sale.
“Canada is a sovereign nation, of course,” John Walters, director of the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy, said in a statement. “All I can talk about is our experience here in the United States with marijuana and the painful knowledge we’ve gained about its effects.” This from the same fiend who runs ad campaigns that talk about kids killing federal judges or assisting terrorists. And are Canadians and Mexicans terrorists cuz about 75% of all marijuana in this country comes from one or the other, the other 22% is grown domestically, while 3% is coming from elsewhere. The ONDCP with it's Drug Czar John Walters is nothing more than a multi-billion dollar misinformation campaign, funded by alcohol and tobacco lobbyists who fear the legalization of marijuana. If you don't believe me, go to the website, Anheiser Busch, is one of the biggest contributors, they were also the first organization to lobby to get marijuana illegal. In a related story I'm moving to Canada.....
It has been one year, since the horrific terrorist attacks on New York City, has it been that long? How have things changed? The problem I'm having is simply, with the media loving this story to death, I don't have to remember September 11th, I get reminded of it every day multiple times a day. With CNN having it's daily news specials, "War on Terrorism," all these anti-terrorist specialists. Have you ever wondered how a middle-aged, well dressed, highly educated guy from whereever, USA, could possibly be an expert on terrorism? I have an idea for September 11th, let it go. Stop reminding us, let us get on with our lives. But, everyone is cashing in, people selling American flags, (first American flag shortage right after the events ever) people were and are still cashing in on the attacks. Isn't that the very eason they attacked us in the first place? I've had enough, it's time to let go, no more dedication speeches no more commercials, no more flags, and stop getting fucken choked up every time you hear the national anthem, it used to be your bathroom break when watching games. Yet, every day, we hear about another "victim's encounter," blah blah blah. It's like every time I turn on the local news and they're interviewing some wrinkled sack of skin that is about 104 years old about Pearl fucken Harbor. WHO FUCKEN CARES! The events are very well documented, I don't want to hear about how he shit himself when getting a crew cut at the barber shop. But what effects longing or short-term did September 11th have? It seems every thing has been a shitstorm since. Enron, Dynegy, Worldcom, etc... the economy and economic giants have fallen. Unemployment is the highest it's been in 27 years, a woman dunked in a WNBA game..... So, spend your day, remembering those who have fallen, without buying a flag, a shirts a pin, and at all costs, don't sing!
