For the nine months ended 12/31/00, revenues decreased 10% to $1.02 billion. Net income fell 94% to $6.8 million. Revenues reflect a decrease in sales due to fewer title releases and the effect of the console transition in the Playstation and Nintendo 64 markets.

 Electronic Arts, Inc. reported that third-quarter pro-forma profits fell but managed to

meet expectations as revenues grew on strong computer and new PlayStation 2

game sales.

 

Electronic Arts, Inc. announced that it has begun shipping "NBA LIVE 2001" for

the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system. "NBA LIVE 2001" is rated "E"

(Everyone) by the ESRB. The game has a suggested retail price of $49.95. "NBA

LIVE 2001" is also available for the PlayStation at $39.95.

Electronic Arts, Inc. announced that it has signed an exclusive worldwide

agreement with Swedish game developer Digital Illusions to publish "Battlefield

1942" for both the PC and Xbox, the next-generation video game system from

  Microsoft.

                Microsoft Corp. and Electronic Arts, Inc. announced that EA will bring its games to the Xbox video game system, Microsoft's video game console scheduled to launch in fall 2001. Under the terms of the multiyear agreement, EA will commit its

worldwide studios to Xbox games development; the Company expects to publish

up to 10 titles in support of the system's launch. To get started on Xbox games

development, EA has ordered 500 Xbox Development Kits (XDKs) from Microsoft

 Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Singapore,

 South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Taiwan, Thailand and the United Kingdom.

 

Activision, Inc. announced that it has shipped "Disney's The Lion King: Simba's

Mighty Adventure". Based on Disney's "The Lion King" and Disney's "The Lion

 King 2: Simba's Pride," the video games are rated "E" by the ESRB and are

 available for a suggested retail price of $39.99 (PlayStation game console) and

 $29.99 (Game Boy Color).

In November 1997, Activision acquired Combined Distribution (Holdings) Limited, the parent company of CentreSoft Limited, a leading independent distributor of entertainment software products in the United Kingdom, and Sony's exclusive distributor of PlayStation products to the independent retail channel in that country. CentreSoft employs approximately 200 people including one of the largest entertainment software sales and marketing organizations in the United Kingdom.
