Geoff was not an original member of AFI. He was the second bass player to join. I do believe that he left right around 1997, and was replaced by the bass machine we've come to know and love as Hunter.And as an added bit of information you don't care about but I will tell you anyways, Geoff did the artwork on the album Very Proud of Ya. Oh! And Geoff is the one who stabs Davey in the back of the car during the music video He Who Laughs Last.

Where is he now?
Geoff is currently playing stand-up bass in Tiger Army. He recorded with them on their second album The Power of Moonlight, and tours with them, so go give him love. Go see recent pictures of him in the Tiger Army section.
