My name is Garrett & I am 16. I live in Joliet, IL. About 45 min.southwest of Chicago. I like afi. I started listening to them right after blacksails came out. Before AFI i always listened to rap and r&b that was what I was raised up to listen to and since I'm black it was common for me to listen to that type of music. I was first introduced to afi by a punk rock girl who I felt was extremely beautiful, which was weird because she was one of the first punk girls I saw. But any how she let me listen to them and as soon as I heard Jade, Adam, Hunter, and finally Davey break the silence with their poetic east bay hard core I was stunned. I couldn't understand a damn thing they were singing. And Davey's high voice was nothing like MASTER P's and the way they changed there melodies and rhythms was unheard of to me(The first song I heard was Last Kiss, I had never before really heard punk or listened to it). But somthing about that music and vocals followed me throughout the day and week. I would hum the music and here it in my head. and now a year and a few months later hear I am.
