Davey Havok and Adam Carson started the band with other ex members Geoff, Mark. He was born in November when there was a full moon. Davey comes from Ukiah, California. Davey and Nick 13 from Tiger Army went to the same school. Nick was a year older than Davey and they met each other when they noticed they were both wearing *the Misfits* shirts. He attended UC Berkeley for 2 years, but then stopped because he realized that he just wanted to be in AFI.
