Mud in My Mouth

I used to be sure
Of the soil I stood on.
Then you came and rained on me
And muddied up everything
I knew.
Now look at me--
I'm just a little,
Wet,
Dirty girl
In this big,
Damp,
Dirty world.
I used to stand sturdy,
Feet firmly on the ground.
Then you stormed in
And left me,
Slippery and stammering.
Yeah, you've got me
Mudsliding around town,
Flooding and flaming
And forgetting to forget about you.
