The Beginning and The End

Fei

One day, an unconscious young man was brought to a small village. He had no memory of the past, other then his name, Fei. When a group of Gears, giant robotic suits of armor, start fighting within the village, Fei finds an empty gear and climbs in to fight. He loses control of the gear and himself and destroys the troops, and the village. Fei is forced on a quest to figure out his past.


Strategy: Fei is a well rounded fighter who can fight melee or projectile warfare. However, when he gets stuck in one or other he can be defeated fairly easily.
Combos:
  • Chain Combo, Guided Shot or Chikei or Hoten
  • In corner, Tenbu into corner, Senretsu
  • Launcher, Air Combo, Fukei

    Stats: Power*: 6 Energy: 5 Defense: 5 Speed: 5 Strength: B Weakness: P Ratio: 2

    Special Moves:
    Raijin*: Performs a punch into the ground with causes a burst of energy (B)
    Guided Shot*: A fast, but weak, homing ball of air (B)
    Hoten*: Turns around and dashs toward the enemy elbow first
    Counter Attack: Physical Attacks are countered
    Power Swap: Power up 2 and Defense down 2, or defense up and power down.
    Tenbu: Kicks nearly vertically. Catches the target for a throw

    Hyper Attacks:
    Chikei*: Punches the ground and causes a wave of earth energy. 15 hits (E)
    Fukei: Air only. Fires 16 balls of Guided shot downward (B)
    Senretsu: Charges forward (C) and unleashs a 14 hit combo

    Enter: His gear, Weltall, drops him off
    Taunt: His ultimate move, Yamika, is a weird dance
    Victory: Weltall comes and kneels down to Fei

  • Elly Van Houten

    A lieutenant in the Solaris Gebler Special Forces. Elly was the pilot of the gear that Fei found on the outskirts of Lahan. With ether magic for a specialty, Elly is a valuable member of whatever team she is working on. Elly has lost control of her powers several times. She can use her magic to control ether guided missles called Aerods. Elly wields a split wand in battle.


    Strategy: Elly is pretty crappy in hand-to-hand fighting. Her weak power and defense mean she will get beat up very easily in close. Use Elly's specials to keep the enemy away and only move closer to try to trick the enemy

  • Chain Combo, Bright Spark or Animo Zap
  • Sweep Combo, Screamer
  • Launcher, Sting Kick, Aerods

    Stats: Power: 3 Energy*: 8 Defense: 3 Speed: 7 Strength: H Weakness: B Ratio: 2

    Special Moves:
    Bright Spark*: Up on one foot and Elly charges forward with her wand. (H)
    Sting Wand*: Jumps into the air and charges downward while spinning the wand
    Screamer*: Elly lets out a sonic scream (real move). Like MK’s Sindel (H)
    Sting Kick: Elly does an upward kick. Cammy’s Cannon Spike
    Terra Lance: A pillar of stone bursts from the ground (E)

    Hyper Attacks:
    Animo Zap*: Ether powered lightning shoots forward. 18 hits. (S)
    Pyro Meteor: A large, flaming meteor drops out of the sky. Like Hulk’s gamma crush. 10 hits (F)
    Aerods: 4 laser devices rise out of Elly and fire laser beams in 4 directions. 12 hits (H)

    Enter: Dropped off by Vierge, her gear
    Taunt: Spins around and shrugs. Her victory dance in game
    Victory: Turns into the Nisan Mother, her original form

  • Citan

    A scientist living near the village of Lahan. Citan is a good friend of Fei’s. After Fei flees the remains of the village, Citan repairs the Weltall gear and picks it just in time to save Fei from a giant lizard. Much later in the game, Citan decides to break his vow and takes up his deadly sword again.


    Strategy: Citan is very quick for a weapon user. Citan fights with a sword style that keeps the blade sheathed unless it is being swung. The sheathing time makes his normal attacks a little slower, but does not effect it much. Citan should be aggressive and not give the opponent an opening to counter.

  • Chain Combo, Blade Roll or Willow Wind
  • Sweep Combo, Fury Slashes or Haze of Fire

    Stats: Power: 5 Energy: 5 Defense: 4 Speed*: 7 Ratio: 2

    Special Moves:
    Sword Drill*: Jumps upward at a 45 angle and spins like a drill.
    Blade Roll*: Rolls forward with the blade edge outward
    Sazami*: Heals the target
    Fury Slashes: Very quick series of sword attacks.
    Teleportation

    Hyper Attacks:
    Willow Wind*: Beams of electricity fly through Citan and strike the enemy. 18 hits (S)
    Aqua Blaster: Charge forward (C) and knocks the enemy upward repeated. 10 hits (W)
    Haze of Fire: Three sword circles. Similar to Ken’s Flaming punchs. 12 Hits (F)

    Enter: Does a Blade Roll on to the screen
    Taunt: Flips his hair back
    Victory: Goes into low stance with hand on his sword hilt.

  • Ramsus

    A general of the Gebler forces sent by Solaris to subjugate the worthless "Lambs". Ramsus, although powerful, is still very insecure about his position. He is very self-centered and cannot handle defeat or criticism. After being beaten by Fei, he develops a fixation centered around killing Fei.


    Strategy: Ramsus isn't the best offensive warrior in the world. His style is much better suited for a defensive plan, waiting for the enemy to come to him. Good timing with the Blaze Pose can stop a pummeling with a counter.

  • Chain Combo, Solaris Blade x 1, Animus Blaze or Vendetta
  • Launcher, Air Combo, Wave Diffuser
  • Sweep Combo, Amina Shock, Vendetta or Animus Blaze

    Special Moves:
    Blaze Pose*: Holds his sword with the hilt out. Works as a counter attack. (A)
    Miang Healing*: Ramsus's partner runs out to heal the target
    Solaris Blade*: Takes a step forward and delivers a sword slash. May be done four times in a row
    Amina Shock: A crackle of energy runs up Ramsus and a bolt goes into the air. Stuns if hit (P)
    Basic Throw: Impales the enemy on his sword, rips it out
    Bonus: When in critical, Ramsus gains energy + 2.

    Hyper Attacks:
    Vendetta*: Holds out a huge globe of energy. 14 hits (P)
    Animus Blaze: A hyper-like attack of Solaris Blade. 10 slashes. Super Armor 2 during attack.
    Wave Diffuser: Pulsating ovals of energy radiate from Ramsus. 5 ovals. 15 hits (A,P)

    Enter: The Vendetta, Ramsus's Omni-Gear drops Ramsus and Miang off
    Taunt: Screams "FEI!" really loud
    Victory: Goes crazy and cuts up the enemies body

  • ID

    ID appears to make life difficult for Bart and the pirates. He pilots the nearly invincible Alpha Gear. Little is known about him, other than the fact that Ramsus fought him long ago. He is also related to Grahf in some way. His combat skills resembles Fei's.


    Strategy: He fights like a stronger version of Fei

    Shadow Swell*: Creates a black hole like field of energy just in front of ID. 12 hits (D)
    Senretsu: Charges forward (C) does a 7 hit combo, ending with Tenbu
    Shinku Fukei: Air Only. Fires 15 guided shot projectiles

    Enter: A mock salute
    Taunt: ID's spell stance. Leans forward and smirks
    Victory: The Zophar Modifer drops into the backward.

  • Alpha Gear

    ID's gear. The Alpha Gear is a large, red Gear with blazing wings of energy. This Gear far outperforms even the legendary Omni-Gears. Powered by negative psychic energy, this Gear is nearly invincible. Also, the inclusion of this Gear makes five Xenogears characters that use similar, if not identical, styles.


    Strategy: The Alpha Gear is a devastating piece of equipment. Players can just cut loose and beat the living tar out off most characters. The one down side is its hyper attacks. Although ungodly powerful, they don't combo in general. His specials combo with just about anything, so make use of them.

    Guided Shot*: Fires a quick burst of energy that homes on the enemy a little. May be done 3 times in a row (A,P)
    Aveh Disaster: Holds his arms up and forward (C) catches enemies and blasts the victim into the air with a beam. 4 hits (P)
    Thor Wave: Projects a short to medium ranged wave of heat energy. 3 hits (A,F)
    Basic Throw: Holds up the enemy by the neck and uses the Aveh Disaster
    Bonus Abilities: Flying, Double Jump, Shadow Slide

    Hyper Attacks:
    Psycho Crush*: Raises its arms and a large vehicle lands on top of the enemy. Cannot be blocked on the ground. 1 hit
    Super Guided Shot: Air Only. Throws 15 Guided Shot attacks down at the enemy. Powerful homing. (P)
    Sacred Wings: His energy wings grow to a huge size, harming the enemy. 10 hits (P)

    Enter: A relatively weak Gear transforms into the Alpha Gear by ID's touch
    Taunt: His wings flare and turn black for a moment
    Victory: Creates a ball of energy in his hands, throws it at the ground, turning the background into a large crater.

  • Emeralda

    A nanomachine colony that was built by Fei and Elly in one of their past lives. Emeralda is actually composes of billions of microscope machines. This design allows her body to be formed into just about any shape she can imagine.


    Strategy: Emeralda's biggest advantage are her normal attacks. They can come from almost any height at any time. Also, many must be blocked at a certain level, like her hammer attack.

  • Sweep Combo, Grand Arm or Dark Beast or Tornado Hands
  • Chain Combo, Launcher, Air Combo, Wave Cutter

    Special Moves:
    Wave Cutter*: Throws a disk of her body material like a boomerang. Medium Range (A)
    Grand Arm*: Punches the ground and thin spikes shoot up out of the ground. 5 hits
    Hammer Head*: Turns into a hammer, hits, then does a flip attack.
    Divider: She dissolves and flies forward as particles. Causes slight damage. More like a shadow slide.
    Flying Arm: Her hair turns into three spikes. If hit, drains life from the victim Morphing Body: Her normal attacks are bizarre. Things like turning into a hammer, a pincushion, etc.
    Basic Throw: Hugs the enemy and spikes come out of the victim's back

    Hyper Attacks:
    Reycount*: Shots pieces of herself as energy waves at the enemy. 12 hits
    Dark Beast: Throws a slow moving black orb (C) turns into a mouth and chews the enemy. 5 hits Unblockable(D)
    Tornado Hands: Turning her hands into a fan, Emeralda causes a tornado directly in front of her. 14 hits (B)

    Enter: A pillar of water appears, and Emeralda forms in the liquid
    Taunt: Jumps up and down happily
    Victory: Grows into a mature woman and simply turns her back.
