Ashley

The main character in Squaresoft's Vagrant Story. Ashley is a soldier called a Riskbreaker. These troops always work alone on extremely dangerous missions that the government simply cannot become officially involved in. Ashley is known as the one of the best Riskbreakers ever simply because he has survived several missions. Ashley has a dark past that is hidden even from himself. He uses a rapier and shield weapon combination.

Strategy: Ashley works well both in close and at a distance. He is NOT a projectile user, but several of his moves has enough range as not to melee with the enemy. Use a variety of skills to confuse the enemies.

  • Sydney

The main villain of Square's Vagrant Story. Sydney enters the abandoned city of Lea Monde to gain the ultimate power of the Blood Sin seal. Sydney brings with him a small group of Mercenaries and a captured Royal Inquisitor. Sydney has the power to create and control demonic creature.

Strategy: Sydney is horrible in melee combat. His punches and kicks are pansy looking with little range. Sydney's strength is the range of his moves. Soul Surge and Screeching Souls are both projectile attacks that create a field of energy before they fire. Stay on the ground though, because he has no specials that work in the air.
Combos: Chain Combo, Drain Mind, Darkness Cannon or Spirit Bubble

    Rosencratz

Rosencratz is a Riskbreaker sent into the ruins of Lea Monde to spy on Ashley. He is a fallen member of the Riskbreakers, the only one in history to run away from his work. Now he is used by the RBs as a backup on tough jobs, where one RB might not be enough, but risking two is unacceptable.

Musashi is given two swords: Fusion, a blade that can absorb abilities from his enemies, and Lumina, the holy blade of the 5 elements.

Strategy: Musashi has a variety of moves that let him attack and still avoid enemy attacks. Rumpari Special flies over ost projectiles to land hits, while Earthquake's ground hit can block 1 hit projectiles. Musashi works best close in, especially against projectile users.

The vile wizard of darkness that was sealed within Lumina. Dark Lumina has the power to use all of the abilities of the Lumina blade at the peak of its power. Dark Lumina has the power to transform his arms into blades and other similar objects. Dark Lumina looks like a vaguely man-shaped alien-like white thing with a large green crystal set in his forehead.

  • Ed

A member of the Thristquencher Empire's Leader's Force. Ed, like all the members, believes he is the unquestioned leader of the force. Ed's temper makes up for his being so short.

Strategy: A below average fighter, even for a Ratio 1. Most Ratio 1s have at least one stat they are good in, but Ed is strictly average. His moves are interesting, but can cause as much damage to you as your enemy. Use the moves wisely and try not to get caught in your own Bomb Bound attacks

  • Koji

A fighter from Square's Ehrgiez. I have no idea about his story, but you could play as him in the story RPG mode. He wields large broadswords.
