Snake's Revenge: Metal Gear

Metal Gear is a dramatic secret agent. For most of the series, you play as Solid Snake, a super spy with abilities far above what a human should possess. In fact, Snake isn't really human, he is a genetically engineered soldier.

Raiden

A US operative trained via virtual reality. Raiden is just a code name for a man named Jack. When terrorists take over an oil spill clean up facility that was being visited by the president, Raiden is sent in alone to rescue the president. However, Raiden soon learns that not everything is what it seems to be. Raiden fights with a variety of small arms and an electrified katana.


Strategy: Raiden is a powerful fighter with good ranged due to his sword. However, having a sword causes his normal attacks to move slowly. Also, his moves just aren't designed to combo well, as Raiden is a stealth operative.

    Special Moves:
    Cyber Cutting*: Jumps into the air, with his sword leaving a spiral trail behind him. 3 hits (A)
    Ammo Avoid*: Raiden does his jumping flip attack, he does a complete 360 mid-air. Block high. Flies over low projectiles
    Sudden Stab*: Hops forward with a straight stab. Stronger buttons means longer hop
    Silenced Socom: Fires 4 bullets in a fairly quick manner
    Stealth Surprise: Grabs the enemy (T) around the neck, and chokes by hitting buttons. Up to 15 hits
    Basic Throw: Grabs the enemy by the head and does a basic over the shoulder throw.
    Bonus Abilities: Dodge
    Launcher: A backflip kick
    Hyper Attacks:
    Nikita Sting*: Takes out his rocket launcher and fires 10 homing shots.
    Bed Time: Swings his sword (C), slices downward, then dashes through the enemy. 3 hits (S)
    VR Training: Raiden becomes wire framed and only takes half damage. Lasts 12 seconds.

    Enter: Climbs up and ladder and takes off his scuba mask
    Taunt: Does the basic "Come here" gesture
    Victory: Calls the Colonel to tell him mission complete

  • Vamp

    A Romanian Terrorist. When Vamp was just a boy, a bomb destroyed the Church he and his family were attending. He was buried under the rubble for days, forced to drink the blood of his dead parents to survive. Vamp has no super powers, but his physical prowess is so intense that it seems like he does. Now he is called the Wizard of Knifes. Also, Vamp isn't for Vampire, it's because he's bisexual (says J.G. Plisken). Vamp does count as a Vampire for any abilities that work differently on vampires though.


    Strategy: Vamp's specialty is his evasion moves. Rail Walker, B. Swimmer and Natural Quickness are all moves that work to move Vamp around quickly. Along with Super Armor and his double jumping, he can move anyway at any time. Vampire power can be very useful if you are losing. Use it and simply run right through any move to attack your enemies!

    Special Moves:
    Shadow Pin*: Throws a dagger down into the enemies shadow. The enemy cannot move, but can attack
    Blood Pain*: Throws two daggers straight ahead. (A,down-forward:Straight down for Railing W)
    Life Hack*: Hops forward, landing with a knife slash. May slash up to 3 times
    Railing Walker: Not an attack. Vamp jumps to the top of the screen and can walk around up there.
    Buoyant Swimmer: Dives into the ground, and rises up some distance ahead with a knife slash
    Natural Quickness: A shadow slide that leaves a red, gas-like trail.
    Basic Throw: Climbs on the victim's back for 2 hits of choking and a bite (Drain)
    Bonus Abilities: Super Armor 1, Double Jump
    Launcher: A rising knife stab
    Hyper Attacks:
    Wizard with Knifes*: Spins around, throwing knifes at the enemy. Up to 20 hits
    Helpless Victim: Reaches forward (T) then stabs the enemy multiple times, ending with a bite. 9 hits (Drain)
    Vampire Power: Lowers Vampires speed by 3, but he becomes totally invincible for 8 seconds.

    Enter: Falls from above, landing with a spray of water rising around him
    Taunt: Spreads his legs out and claps his hands above his head
    Victory: Says "Yeah!" and jumps away, leaving a red trail.

  • Fortune

    The unspoken leader of the Dead Cell unit. Her husband was the original leader, but he was placed behind bars for charges brought against the group. Then, her father was killed in the Tanker sinking that causes the Big Shell's production in the first place. Fortune is given her name due to her extreme luck. In combat, nothing can kill her. She is suicidal in the extreme, simply wanting to end her life, end the pain.


    Strategy: Not much of a comboer, but Fortune is powerful nonetheless. Her defenses stink, but since half of all attacks will completely miss her regardless, her life disappears slower than most expect. He lightning blasts are quite large and damaging.

    Taser Bazooka*: Fortune fires her lightning bolt shooting weapon. 4 hits (S)(A)
    Destiny Coin*: Tosses a lucky coin in the air. Enemies touch take damage, allies are healed.
    Girder Attack*: Shoots her weapon over the enemy, causing girders to fall. 3 hits (S,if weapon hits)
    Dud Grenade: Someone offscreen throws a grenade at her feet. She kicks it away, and it explodes on contact.
    Luck In Battle: There is a 50% chance that any attack will miss Fortune.
    Basic Throw: She closes her eyes and the enemy somehow becomes electrocuted (S)
    Bonus Abilities: Dodge
    Launcher: An upward swing of her taser
    Hyper Attacks:
    Lightning Ray*: A hyper version of the Taser. Shoots a giant lightning blast. 27 hits (S)(A)
    Sky Collapse: Shoots the ceiling, and 12 girders fall over the enemy.
    Lady Luck: Lasts 6 seconds. During this time, any hits to Fortune hurt the one who hit her instead.

    Enter: Drops from above, riding an elevator
    Taunt: "Is that the best you can do"
    Victory: Falls to her knees, saying "Please, someone kill me!"

  • Solidus

    Solid Snake's "brother". Solidus is the third of the "Infant de Terri-ble" project. He is the genetic mirror of both Solid and Liquid Snake. He is the mastermind behind the invasion of Big Shell, but what are his objectives? He fights with 2 tentacles come out of his back, just like Doc Oct in Spiderman as well as dual katanas.


    Strategy: Solidus is very much land-locked. He has no special moves in mid-air and his low speed makes it hard to air combo effectively. His Choke Hold works as an anti-air since it can go straight out or up and forward diagonally. All in all, Solidus is a slow powerhouse with some very cool moves in all range categories, but he can be difficult to use.

    Choke Hold*: Reaches out a tentacle (C) picks up the enemy and chokes. Life slowly drops until hold is broken
    Glide Flame*: Solidus becomes engulfed in flame and dashes forward. 4 hits (F)
    Sword Skills*: A rapid series of 3 blows: 2 stabs and a double slash
    Spider Raid: Jumps up to the corner, then flies out with a falling slice. Block High
    Biotech Kick: A powerful, if ordinary, roundhouse kick. Big recover time.
    Basic Throw: Throws the enemy back, the falls backward shooting with a machine gun. 10 hits
    Bonus Abilities: Long Range-Tentacles, Dodge
    Launcher: An upward kick
    Hyper Attacks:
    Army Artillery*: Grabs his tentacles like guns and starts firing 14 missiles from them! Slight homing.
    Burning Pentagram: Dashes forward (C) then draws a flaming pentagram around the enemy using Glide Flame. 8 hits (F)
    Time to Die: Whips out a tentacle (C) spins a gun on his finger, grabs and shoots right in the forehead. Very bloody
    Muscle Tone: Raises both his speed and power by 3 points. However, his tentacles are unusable. 10 seconds.

    Enter: Lowers from the ceiling by use of his tentacles
    Taunt: Says "Is that it?" waving a sword at you
    Victory: A Harrier flies down and picks him up
