Children of the Blue Star





The Lunar hyper combo finish is a blue flash with a Giant Lucia taking up most of the screen.

Hiro

Hiro is an explorer of ancient ruins. Besides monetary gains, he also searches to discover some piece of the lost history of his planet. However, when exploring the Blue Spire, he wakens Lucia, guardian of the Blue Star. Hiro decides to help Lucia in her quest to find the goddess Althena so they can save the world from the demon Zophar.
Ruby is a little pink flying cat creature. Ruby has been Hiro's partner since they were both just newborns. She has an outrageous personality, often insisting the she is actually Hiro's girlfriend. Although Ruby claims to be a baby red dragon, no one, including Hiro, really believes her claims. Ruby flies overhead during the battle.

Strategy: Hiro's greatest weakness and his greatest strength are his moves. While they cover a wide variety of ranges, they just don't combo well. All of his specials are slow to start, but powerful once they do.

  • Chain Combo, Battalion Sword or Concussion Sword

    Boomerang*: Throws a boomerang at the enemy. Flies out and comes back to Hiro
    Squall*: Waves his hand, and a tornado springs out of the ground under the enemy (B)
    Poe Sword*: Leaps into the air, drops down with a sword slash. Overhead attack
    Speed Storm: Raises his speed by 2 points for a few seconds
    Ruby: She will randomly assist Hiro. Either shoots a fireball or turns into a fireball herself. (F)
    Basic Throw: Ties a rope around the enemy, lifts them into the air, rope breaks
    Bonus Abilities: Dodge
    Launcher: A rising sword cut
    Hyper Attacks:
    Battalion Sword*: Charges sword forward, inside a cone of flame. 12 hits (A,F)
    Sybillium Sword: Air Only. Swings his sword, throws a ball of wind. Explodes on contact. 6 hits (B)
    Concussion Sword: Charges forward, hits the ground with his sword. Explosion causes a pillar to form. 10 hits (F)
    Cross Boomerang: Throws 6 boomerangs at once. 12 hits
    Enter: Lowers himself to the ground and the rope breaks.
    Taunt: Fakes a boomerang throw
    Victory: Ruby sits on his shoulder

    • Lucia

    A traveler from the Blue Star of Lunar. Lucia comes to the world to inform the goddess Althena that an evil force named Zophar is about to be released onto the peaceful Lunar. In the beginning Lucia is naïve and does not understand emotion, but her travels with Hiro show her the human condition, allowing her to learn about feelings. The first picture is the gypsy clothes Jean picks out for her to blend in, while the second is her Blue Star uniform. The player can choose either one to fight in.

    Strategy: Much like Hiro, Lucia has a good selection of moves, but they just do not combo. Lucia is a magic user with a 3 part enhancer. Use the Magic Triple to keep allies in top form.

  • Chain Combo, Napalm Shot or Thunder Bomb or Atomic Burn
  • Launcher, Lightning Bomb or Thunder Bomb
    Similar Fighters: Storm, Doctor Doom

    Special Moves:
    Napalm Shot*: Shoots 4 thin beams. 2 to each side, one high, one low. (Says "Pain") (S)
    Magic Triple*: For assist, will alternate between casting Magic Barrier, Heal Litany and Power Charge. (Says "Power")
  • Magic Barrier: Raises the Defense of the target by 2 points. Lasts 6 seconds
  • Heal Litany: Basic Healing spell
  • Power Charge: Raises the attack power of the target by 2.
  • All of these abilities can be used on Lucia as well.
    Lightning Bomb*: A bolt of lightning shoots upward from Lucia, then comes down at the enemy ("Pain")(S)
    Basic Throw: Touches the enemy and lightning springs from Lucia's fingers (S)
    Bonus Abilities: Double Jump, Teleport
    Launcher: A burst of lightning (S)
    Hyper Attacks: (Says "Destruction at the start of each)
    Plasma Rain*: Bolts of lightning strike all over the screen. Weak against a single target. 6 hits (S)
    Thunder Bomb: Many bolts of lightning strike around Lucia. 18 hits (S)
    Atomic Burn: Lucia creates a globe of fire and throws it toward the enemy. 14 hits (F)
    Enter: A blue crystal rotates in place, shatters, Lucia appears
    Taunt: Says "I must find Althena"
    Victory: Sings to the Blue Star

    • Leo

    Leo is one of the four heroes of the Chosen. The legend of the Blue Spire says that the Destroyer will appear in a flash of light. When Lucia appears, Leo believes she is the Destroyer. He begins to hunt her down. Leo is a little thick headed, but very powerful. He fights with the power of the white dragon.

    Strategy: Leo is powerful, but quite slow. His attacks have lengthy start and finish times. Missing gives the enemy a huge advantage. However, when the enemy gets hit, they know it!

  • Chain Combo, Flash Blade or Buzz Blade or Grizzle Blade
  • Sweep Combo, Buzz Blade or Rock Viper
  • Chain Combo, Launcher, Buzz Blade, Crack Zone

    Flash Blade*: Runs forward (C) and deals a 4 hit combo on a successful hit
    Rock Viper*: A chunk of rock rises in front of Leo, waits a second, then flies at the enemy (E)
    Buzz Blade*: Stabs the ground, creating a pillar of holy light. (H)
    Rock Crusher: Creates a boulder mid-air. It drops to the ground (E)
    Damaging Taunt: When his blade extends, it can hurt the enemy (H)
    Basic Throw: Picks the enemy up with one hand, radiates them with holy energy (H)
    Bonus Abilities: Rolling Evade
    Launcher: A rising sword attack
    Hyper Attacks:
    Grizzle Blade*: Swings his sword, 6 spinning fields of energy fly out. 60 degrees between each. 4 hits per field (H)
    Soul Blade: Does a launcher sword swing (C). A successful hit deals a large bit of damage and heals Leo by the same (H)
    Crack Zone: 2 thin pillars of rock rise out of the ground, then close together. 16 hits (E)
    Earth Prayer: Raises Leo's power and defense by 4 points. Lasts 10 seconds.
    Enter: Leo raises his hand, holy bolts strike together to form a sword
    Taunt: Raises his blade. It glows with holy light, then extends upward.
    Victory: The Dragon Ship Destiny rolls into the fight
