Introduction

Howard Gardner, in 1983, developed a theory on Multiple Intelligences. His theory argues that traditionally defined intelligence does not completely explain the intelligence level of all human beings. Dr. Gardner, a professor of education at Harvard University, believes that we have multiple intelligences, rather than a general intelligence that underlies performance in all tasks. His theory began with 7 distinct types, but after further research, Gardner and his colleagues have has looked to other possible distinct types of multiple intelligences. We will examine 8 different intelligences to account for a broader range of human potential and intelligence. Now that you have a basic understanding of Gardner, and his Multiple Intelligence Theory, you will learn the characteristics of each distinct type, you will learn what professions fit best for each distinct type, and finally, you will find out what your distinct type is...So let's go!
