Ninja Gaiden was around when I was about a wee-youngin. About eight years of age. I saw my cousins playing it and at eight years old, ninjas were the greatest thing in the world. Unfortunately they never let me play it until they were really bored with it. They never beat it since it was a pretty hard game. So I took a stab at it and boy did I really suck at it. I could only make it to about the third level. I wish games could save back in the old NES days. Then came Ninja Gaiden 2 and 3 of which I never played. Then Ryu (not the Street Fighter one as we all thought, or maybe that was just me, ha) went on hiatus for a while.

Now the black ninja with the cool threads is back after so very long. Everything that made Ninja Gaiden cool is back, all in polygonal joy. There's a lot of slicing to be done as you get to cut up other ninjas, huge insects, and the best thing of all, gigantic bosses. Oh yes they are back. I remember on the NES Ninja Gaiden 2 I saw a picture of one of the bosses named Tiny. I was sorely mistaken when I turned the page and saw Ryu being like 1/16 of his entire size. These bosses are big. The graphics look the same if not better than the Dead or Alive series, albeit not as bouncy. Ryu's threads flow in the wind as he strikes and his moves are smooth. And damn does he look cool doing it.

It looks like this game will be worth the wait and hopefully there'll be a lot of replay value in terms of secrets and what not. Ryu's back ladies and gentlemen and ready to kick some ninja ass on the Xbox.

"Seriously, didn't you think Tiny was going to be tiny?"

Graphics - Just great. Good cinematic quality. You're actually playing a Star Wars movie.
9.0
Sound - Same old Star Wars theme never gets old as you being the story. Lightsabers sound like lightsabers. The voice acting is top notch.
9.7
Gameplay - Very deep. So much to do with all the sidequests along with the main quest. Fighting system takes a while to get used to, but it's smooth once you know how to use it.
9.6
Satisfaction - Oh yeah, this game is duly recommended. Get if even if you're not a Star Wars fan. 2 different endings make you play it twice.
