Ranks

Guild Master
It is the Guild Master’s duty to maintain the guild. This is done by adding and removing members, assigning ranks, organizing events, maintaining the website, and managing guild relations both within and outside of The Arcane Union. It is also the duty of the Guild Master to keep the members informed on the happenings of the guild. The Guild Master does this via the website and within the game. On the website, the Guild Master will post important news updates on the “Home” page and in the Forum. In the game, updates and news will be handled with the Guild Message of the Day and in standard Guild Chat. It is also the responsibility of the Guild Master to answer any questions or concerns from people within the guild or prospective members about events, the website, etcetera.

Viceroy
The Viceroy acts as the Guild Master's second in command. At any time, there will only be one Viceroy. The Viceroy and the Guild Master share many responsibilities. This rank can promote, can alter the Guild Message of the Day, and will be expected to recruit on a regular basis.

Elder
The Elders are a collection of nine high ranking Officials assigned with many of the same tasks as the guild member. One of the key differences is that while the Guild Master can add and remove members, an Elder can only add members. They are also charged with the task of fielding any questions and concerns that members or prospective members might ask. It is the basic job of an Elder to act in the place of the Guild Master when he/she is not available. It is suggested that an Elder act as a group leader when one is already in a party. This is not law, however. Any member of a party can be the group leader. An Elder should also concern themselves with the Forum.

Elder Alt
This rank is reserved for Elders who have Alts in the guild. Elder Alts share all of their abilities with Elders. Think of them as one in the same.

Magistrate
It is the duty of a Magistrate to be a beacon within the guild. This rank will be awarded to members who have shown reasonable thought and etiquette within the guild. Magistrates should act as the keepers of harmony. A member who spends a lot of time grouping/raiding may find themselves ranked a Magistrate upon an open slot. It is suggested that Magistrates act as a leader to all groups when an Elder is not available for whatever reason.

Champion
A Champion is an established member of the guild. These are generally people who are online quite a bit, are known to others and enjoy grouping. The rank of Champion tends to be awarded to members who have proven themselves within the guild by being friendly, courteous and generous.

Neophyte
Neophytes are full fledged members of the guild, just as any other despite the placement of their title below the other ranks. These members are to be respected and admired just as any other member. To rank-up Neophytes should spend time with other players. Make themselves known within the guild. Donate items to people who may need them in Guild Chat. Visit the Forum on a regular basis. Simply speaking, making friends and being courteous and generous will get a Neophyte ranked-up.

Alternate
This rank is reserved for alt characters.
