Guild Charter

Section I: Principles

A: We exist as a partisan-centered municipality based on structured and proven methods. Methods based on a hierarchy of governmental and social resolve, honor and dignity. Methods that will sustain high morale and stimulate guild growth, as well as individual growth.

B: We are a friendly guild. We are friendly to members within the guild, as well as other Horde guilds. You are expected to treat all players with respect, including Alliance. Taunting is fine, but do not take your frustration to indecent levels. Horde does exist to destroy Alliance, but we should remain a virtuous guild. We will fight with honor and emerge the victor.

C: Blatant disregard of decency will not be tolerated. Some acts of foul language or rudeness can have serious repercussions in this guild. Serious offenders may even find themselves expelled from the guild.

D: It is in poor taste to request aid on a regular basis. A member should only petition for help in moderate intervals or when circumstances have become dire.

Section II: Government

A: The guild will never exceed 110 unique members. Our aim is to keep the number of unique members at 100, but sometimes we will accept some extra members so we have some wiggle-room between recruits. Large guilds grow to be convoluted and unfriendly. We will not allow this to happen. A medium sized guild will give us a reasonable amount of people online at a given time, and will still be small enough to make long lasting friendships. If at any time the number of unique guild members exceeds 110, members will be sorted by the last time they played. The most distant chronologically will be expelled from the guild. Situations such as vacation or computer problems are likely to be excused if you mention them on the official guild forum.

B: Recruitment will be handled by the Guild Master, the Viceroy and the Elders. All members have the right to request another person’s membership. Recruitment ultimately lies with the will of the Guild Master, the Viceroy and the Elders. The act of recruiting players into the guild could give an advantage for a rank promotion.

C: If the Guild Master, Viceroy or the Elders receive a number of complaints on a regular basis of a person, that person will be spoken to in an attempt to resolve the issue(s). If no conclusion can be reached or the person in question repeats their previous transgressions, more permanent action will occur.

D: Any guild member can ask to be demoted to a rank that they feel would better suit them. Because of the way our hierarchy works, appealing for a promotion will never lead to one. The only way to get promoted is to follow these guidelines to your ability.

E: When recruiting, pay little mind to the level of the player's character. It is usually correct to assume that a lower level character cannot aid a higher level character, but a higher level character can certainly aid a lower level character and we should all do our part when someone is in need, regardless of their level. Also consider that it does not take too long of a time to reach high levels in World of Warcraft.

F: Any member who has not logged into the game for 14 consecutive days (2 weeks) will be expelled from the guild. Exceptions include vacations, family emergencies, or anything else that could grant an EA (excused absence). If you know you'll be away from your computer for two weeks or longer, contact the Guild Master, the Viceroy or an Elder about the issue. An EA will double the amount of time a player can be inactive.

G: Elders are expected to be the Guild Master's eyes and ears when he/she isn't logged into the game. It is for this reason that Elders who have not logged into the game for 7 consecutive days (1 week) will be demoted to Magistrate and someone will be ranked up to take their place as an Elder. The 2 week inactivity rule concerning deletion (above) still applies to ex-Elders without EAs.

H: A member given an excused absence will be subject to a different time period for demotion and deletion from the guild. An Elder/Viceroy with an excused absence will be given 14 days before demotion. Any player with an excused absence will be deleted after 28 days of inactivity. Keep in mind that most members that have been deleted from the guild have the option to rejoin. These members however, will have to start again as a Neophyte.

I: A member may wish to make their Alt, their Main. After doing this the player may feel that their Alt should retain the rank of their former Main. This cannot be, as ranks are given based on that character's participation and ability within the guild, not necessarily the participation of the player. Anytime that an Alt is made into a Main, that Alt will be ranked as a Neophyte, regardless of level or player stature.

J: Neophytes, Champions and Magistrates alike may have one Alt admitted into the Guild. We have an Alt cap of thirty. When the cap is met, we will no longer admit Alts. The reason for the limitation is to make sure that we give as many players as possible the ability to have a Guilded Alt, without going over our Alt cap. Alts will be marked by an Elder to show which Main the Alt is attached to.

K: To join the Guild Bank, members ranked Champion or higher can send 4g to Coffer in the game. Members who have not registered with the bank can still donate items. Keep all transactions with Coffer to 1g increments, please. People ranked Champion or higher can take out gold from the bank to be paid back at a later date. The amount a member can take out is 12g for a Champion, 25g for a Magistrate and 30g for members ranked Elder or higher. Please read the "Bank" section of the site for more info.

L: Member's who have Alts in the guild are required to have them marked with the name of their Main. There are a number of reasons for this, but the most important is so when a Main leaves we know that an Alt should be promoted to Neophyte. If your Alt's Public Note is blank, or reads something other than this information, please speak with an Elder about the issue.

Section III: Purposes

A: Trading is paramount to guild growth. A new weapon or armor piece at the right time can make all the difference to a player’s experience. Of course, it is optional, but you will win favor for advancement within the guild ranks if your trade habits become noticeable.

B: Grouping is important for individual and guild growth. The act of grouping on a regular basis could be a factor in granting a promotion. It is recommended to group with guild members similar to your level. If none are available, group with someone not in the guild. Perhaps they’ll see your skill and remember the name, "The Arcane Union" and request a membership. If a group member impedes the productivity of the group in any number of ways, each and every member of that group has the right to contact the Guild Master, the Viceroy and/or any Elder about the issue.

C: Raids will be handled in one way only. The Raid Captain is in total control. Listen to him/her. Raids will only work if everyone cooperates. The Raid Captain should be the most seasoned in the matter, not necessarily the highest level. If a raid member impedes the productivity of the group in any number of ways, each and every member of that group has the right to contact the Guild Master, the Viceroy and/or any Elder about the issue.

D: Enchanting can be a costly practice. Any items that can be broken down should be donated to any online Enchanters. Of course, this is completely optional, but actions like this can gain you favor in the guild. Don’t fear deletion if you do not donate such items.

Section IV: Functions

A: All of our guild functions are detailed in the calendar, accessible from the website’s Main Menu. If you have any questions feel free to contact the Guild Master, the Viceroy or one of the Elders. Note that all events that take place at a specific time will be in accordance with the in-game clock.

B: Note that all guild functions are completely optional. That will never change. It is very strongly urged however, that the Viceroy and the Elders all attend the Bi-Monthly Meeting held in Razor Hill, Durotar. Every member of the guild is welcome to the meetings. Check the guild calendar for dates and times. Members who partake in various Guild Days and Bi-Monthly Meetings on a regular basis may find themselves granted a promotion.

C: Members are encouraged to take screenshots of various guild functions. Those screenshots can then be submitted to the Guild Master via the "Contact" link on the website to appear in the guild's Gallery. Note that not all entries will appear in the gallery. Also, some images received may be cropped (or edited in some fashion) to streamline the photo album.

Section V: Privileges

A: The Guild Master is not the only leader of the guild. We are all the leaders. Each one of us is important to our cause. We are all equally important in this guild, and every member should treat every other member as they would like to be treated. There is however, a hierarchy within this system.

B: The governing body is the Guild Master, the Viceroy and the Elders. These people have the ability to give memberships to whoever they feel could benefit the guild. Only the Guild Master can remove memberships.
