Bio: Survivors of the
civilization that created Gyaos and Gamera settled in ancient Japan. With them,
they brought a horrible legacy, the egg of an advanced Gyaos. For centuries,
this egg lay within the cave behind the Shrine of the Marsh in Nara. Legend
claimed that the cave was the sleeping place of a monster spirit called
Ryu-Sei-Cho. When a girl from Tokyo, her parents killed during Gamera's battle
with the Super Gyaos, entered the cave, she unwittingly ended the legendary
creature's slumber. Removing a guarding stone, Ayana Hirasaka exposed the
ancient egg. The beast within responded to the girl, soon hatching and accepting
her as his provider. Ayana named the infant monster Iris, after her pet cat,
also lost in the Tokyo disaster.
The guardian of the shrine, a boy named
Moribe, tried to discern just what the creature was. He found a legend about
four guardians. The guardian of the south was a phoenix named Suzaku, and the
sworn foe of the enemy of the south. Deciding that this meant Gamera, Ayana
bonded with Iris, sharing her hate with the monster. But Iris wanted more.
Trying to copy Gamera's link with Asagi, Iris attempted to unite with Ayana,
enveloping her in a cocoon. Moribe rescued the girl just in time, and government
officials soon whisked the girl away to Kyoto to study her link with the
monster.
Determined to fulfill his evolution into a
greater form, Irys soon took to the air, bound for Kyoto and Ayana. Gamera
intercepted the monster, attacking the Gyaos mutant mercilessly. The battle
progressed to the train station, where Ayana was being hastily evacuated to
another location. Iris brutally impaled Gamera with his sharp spurs, leaving him
for dead. The monster then exerted a form of mind control over Ayana, drawing
the girl to him. Extending a grotesque pseudopod, Iris engulfed the girl,
pulling her into his body, intending to absorb her and complete his evolution.
Gamera fought back, however, and just when
things were at their worst, Gamera pulled Ayana out of Iris and blasted the
Gyaos into oblivion
Recently, however, Iris has reappeared without warning. A member of the
Dark Knights ARena team known as Darksomebody has somehow resurrected the
creature. The two are poised for battle, and no one knows to what extent
Darksomebody's influence has had on the resurgence of this evil beast.

Iris is an advanced and mutated version of the Gyaos. The creature possesses a
number of hundred-meter long tentacles, which it can employ to grip, strangle
and crush its enemies. The fore-tentacles end in strange appendages which Iris
can use to fire four independent Gyaos-like sonic cutting laser beams. These
tentacles can also become energized, easily swatting away incoming projectiles
such as Gamera's fireball blasts. Iris can fly by means of a weird sort of
levitation, thin, skin like webs extending between his tentacles to allow him to
direct his flight. Iris' most terrible power is his ability to absorb the
essence of other living creatures. Iris can impale a foe with his metallic,
spur-like arms. These spurs are so strong that they can even penetrate Gamera's
shell. The spurs will slowly absorb the essence of a victim, syphoning the
attributes into Iris. By this means, Iris was able to adapt Gamera's ability to
shoot fireballs, replacing the sonic beams fired by his tentacles.
