THE
THREE KEYS
Part
One: The Key of Spirit
Chapter
6: A Key's History
Spyder crept through the museum,
looking carefully at each artifact for clues as to where the Key of Body would
be found. He came across a large banner with information written on it.
"You are now entering the Hall of Egypt," said the banner.
"Here lies the ancient Pharaoh Serpent found by Dr. John Frink in the
Valley of the Kings over 30 years ago. It is said that the Serpent holds
mystical powers over the living. Some say that it can even transfer a
person into a new body! As of yet, this ancient artifact's secrets have
never been revealed."
Spyder stared a bit longer. "And thosssse ssssecretssss sssshall
remain unknown to thossssse who are undessserving of the information," he
said quietly. Spyder headed towards the exhibit, but was startled by
voices. He crept along the ceiling hoping that he wouldn't be spotted.
Fury and Khalm turned the corner and noticed the banner. "Here we
are," Khalm said plainly. "Let's not waste any more time."
The brothers were about to enter the exhibit when Spyder dropped down in front
of them. "And jussst where do you think YOU'RE going?" he
hissed. Fury charged up a fireball in his right hand. Spyder tore
off his trench coat, revealing an inhuman beast.
Spyder's long, bony arms ended in three-fingered hands. Protruding from
his sides were eight long, jointed legs that clicked and clacked of their own
accord. His entire body consisted of that of a spider, and his mouth was
pincer-shaped. He had eight large eyes and small hairs all over his body.
His husky legs ended in three-toed feet, and saliva dripped from his mouth.
Khalm stepped in the middle of the argument. "Let's not get hasty,
Spyder. You know we're after the same thing." Spyder looked
slyly at Khalm, then Fury. "Yesss, you are right. Perhaps we
should work together to obtain the Key." The three finally entered
the exhibit. All around them, ancient Egyptian artifacts from different
periods hid behind glass casings. And in the center of it all was a
blood-red ruby shaped like a coiled snake. "The Pharaoh
Serpent," Khalm said with glee. "The Key of Body!"
The agents made their way to the third floor, where the Egyptian exhibit was
held. "Fury's tracking device is leading us up here. Be ready
for anything," said GWB as he whipped out his guns. Shadow opened the
door and saw a startling sight indeed. Dracatron, Rex, and Galex were
creeping into another room, unaware of their foes behind them.
"Hey boys. Looking for something?" GWB joked. The villains
turned around. "YOU!" yelled Drac. "Always at the
worst times!" He whistled and a squad of Gray Ninjas leaped out from
behind the artifacts on display. Galex looked steamed. "Uh
oh," said GWB, noting Galex's current emotional state. "I think
he remembers me!" The giant took out his enormous axe and spun it
around in his hands. He pointed at GWB with a fierce look in his eyes.
"Yep, he remembers."
Deathwing took flight, launching a volley of fireballs at the Ninjas, who
scattered to avoid getting hit. Rex jumped onto Ness, but was quickly
flipped off by the muscle-bound brute. Galex charged through the fighters,
totally ignoring everything but GWB. The agent fired his Desert Eagles at
Galex, unloading an entire clip, but Galex's armor deflected every shot.
"Shit," he said as he dodged a swipe of the axe.
UG90 was tinkering with the remote. "If I switch this wire with that
one, then maybe... got it!" He tossed the remote into the fray.
"Heads up!" he yelled, and the other agents took cover. The Gray
Ninjas stared at the device momentarily, and it exploded, sending them flying
across the room. Drac pulled out a large rapier. He ran at Deathwing,
but Shadow appeared out of thin air and landed a kick in Drac's face. The
villain stumbled backwards and regained his balance. He charged at Shadow,
and a sword fight ensued, with Shadow matching all of Drac's attacks.
Frustrated, Drac ran for the exit.
"Drac! Wait!" yelled Rex. He started to run, but Ness
grabbed his tail. "I don't think so." Rex gulped as his
face met Ness' fist and slammed into the wall. GWB was having trouble,
however. With every swipe, Galex was getting closer and closer to hitting
his target. GWB stared at the ceiling for a moment, and then he got an
idea. Charging at the behemoth, GWB ran up his body, flipping off of his
neck onto a dangling chandelier. He smiled as Galex looked oddly at him.
Suddenly, the chandelier gave way and GWB jumped off as it crashed on Galex.
He was out like a light. "That takes care of him. Let's get
that Key!" The agents ran off into the next room. They saw the
large banner, and continued running.

"This... higher authority of yours... did he seem odd at all to you?"
asked Fudge, as Rampage stood by, watching his men tear apart the steel door.
The General turned to Fudge. "What's that supposed to mean?"
Fudge smiled. "Did you notice anything different about him? Any
unusual markings or strange actions?" Rampage thought for a moment.
"Yeah, actually, now that you mention it. His entourage was a bit
different from what I expected. They were a bunch of guys wearing gray,
and a freaky skull design on their shirts. I asked about it, but I was
told it was a symbol of a new military division in training."
"General, you've been tricked by the Garai Tai. I'll explain
everything to you if you'll just have your men stop their blowtorches. If
you don't believe my story, then we won't hinder your actions here any
longer," Drag said. Rampage nodded to his troops, who quit on
command. Drag and Rampage began walking down the corridor. G64
turned to Fudge. "How do you DO that?" he wondered.
"I've become more spiritual with each passing moment, my friend. I'm
interested in peace, not war, and I'd do anything to keep that peace,"
Fudge answered.
