Bio:  Barugon seems to be a mystical kaiju of sorts, his kind terrorizing the population of New Guinea for several millennia.   Every thousand years, a Barugon is born from an opal-like egg.  The kaiju grow only slowly, reaching their maximum size after about ten years.  Barugon's body is covered with a vast array of spikes and horns, making him extremely deadly in close quarters combat.  His jaws are also quite massive, giving him an exceptionally strong bite.  Barugon is also an adept jumper, allowing him to put even more force behind his spikes. But by far, Barugon's most powerful weapons are his chameleon-like tongue and his withering rainbow ray. From his tongue, Barugon can spray a freezing ice mist, capable of solidifying a kaiju in seconds, though this power can't be used when Barugon is wet.  The rainbow ray can be used at any time, though it is a great drain on the kaiju's power.  Unlike most kaiju heat attacks, this ray causes no explosion, it simply vaporizes the target.  With a quick sweep of this ray, Barugon vaporized an entire platoon of tanks and artillery in a matter of seconds.  One of Barugon's most unique powers is his "danger sense", which allows him to sense threats and their exact location, even when the threat is miles away.
           
Barugon was first found by a Japanese solder during World War II, who mistook his egg for a soft ball sized opal.  Years later, the location of the hidden egg was given to a trio of thieves, who were soon able to locate Barugon.  The thieves fought amongst them selves for the egg, one was killed and a second left for dead.  The third thief escaped the island with the egg, but had contracted a foot fungus.  The ship's doctor treated the fungus with an infrared lamp.  Barugon was exposed to the lamp and its intense rays invigorated him. He hatched much earlier than he should have and grew to his full size ina matter of minutes!  The ray also seemed to lessen his weakness to water, the bane of all Barugon's kind.  After having his rainbow ray reflected back upon him by a diamond mirror, Barugon was nearly killed.  Just at that moment, Gamera confronted Barugon and easily drowned the weakened kaiju.  Barugon sunk to the bottom of a lake, and was assumed dead.

Years later, the lake was drained to make room for housing development.  Much to the surprise of the Japanese officials, Barugon was still there!  He had been made much more resilient to water by the radiation than any had previously thought.  The kaiju made his way out of the lakebed and proceeded to feed on what ever he could find.

Soon afterward, Barugon was confronted by Heisei Godzilla.  The two kaiju locked in combat, but in the end Barugon prevailed.  With Barugon weakened, the JDF was able to tranquilize the kaiju and transport him to the Monster Island research facility.  On Monster Island, Barugon was attacked by Gabara.  Both kaiju were closely matched, but after a drawn out battle, Barugon hurled his opponent into the sea, where he was attacked by several Ebirah.

After the Team ARena, with Bagan soundly defeated, Guilala departed Earth.  With the Juggernauts down one member, they offered Barugon to join. He accepted and now the team awaits its next challenge...
