Spades Olympics

FOR CAMMIE ADMIN EYES ONLY!

          Purpose:
Spades is a fun game, and as such the game has split off into many various sub games that the leagues on Case’s Ladder play, more importantly members join leagues not just to play regular spades, but many of the other games we as leagues play as well. Currently there are 2 interleague competitions, the Battle of Super Spaders (BOSS) and the Battle of Leagues (BOL). Both the BOSS and BOL are only regular spades. The Spades Olympics would be a grouping of multiple day grouping of several tournaments that hold all the main various forms of spades.

          Construction:
The Spades Olympics would be comprised with as many of the different versions of Spades that could be fit into the allowed time for the competition. Ideally, the competition would be held on a Friday Evening, Saturday, and a Sunday; thus trying to allow as many people to be able to participate as possible. There would be one tournament for each of the following, but not limited to based upon league suggestions:
Regular Spades with Nils and Dnils
Regular Spades with Nils but no Dnils
Regular Spades no Nils or Dnils
Mirror Spades
Crazy Mirrors
Crazy Spades
Suicide
Lucky 7
Bid 3 or Nil
Bid 3
Team Bid 7
Royalty
Wooden Nickel
Last Man Dead

And of course as said, leagues may request that we add a game that was not mentioned above. Each league would be allowed to enter one team per game and at the end of the games the winners would receive the Gold, Silver, or Bronze for that tournament.

To determine the winning team, each victory metal will be given a point rank:
Gold 9
Silver 6
Bronze 1

The League with the greatest amounts of points would be considered the winners at the end of the Olympics.

          Administration:
Because the competition would be between all the Spades leagues in the Case’s Ladder system, all would have to be equally represented. Therefore, as in the case with the BOL an brand new league would be started, and 1 official from each league would be made a HTD of the Olympics, and 1 official from each league would be made a TD of the Olympics thus assuring that each league is equally represented in the Competition.
When the Spades Olympics is officially started, and has an official date set, an official rules set will be compiled for every game in the tournament and will be sent to every league who wishes to participate.
