Rouge is a treasure hunter and thinks all gems are hers and only hers. She wants the Master Emerald, but of course Knuckles won't give it to her. Even after the Master Emerald is broken into many tiny shards, she looks for each individual piece. She is also a government spy, paid with gems of course. In the end, she gives up her spying career and her hunting, saying "It's too much work, for too little pay." It is believed she may have a crush on Knuckles.
