Note: Shadow and Sonic just defeated the Final Hazard, we all know the part when Shadow falls and Sonic doesn’t even think of saving him but I’ll change that part; because I feel like writing something serious, weird.
Shadow went to fast when he and Sonic wanted to stop the colony from crashing into earth “Shadow, I beg of you…” Shadow could hear Maria’s voice. He remembered his promise to his friend, Maria, who died when the ARK was shut down. He remembered her wish “Give them a chance to be happy…”
“Now Shadow!” cried Sonic.
“CHOAS CONTROL” they cried. They preformed the powerful attack together, wich caused the ARK to return to normal…and their power is getting weaker. But since Shadow’s energy is all gone, he lost his super form.
“Maria…”he thought as he was falling “this is what you wanted, right? This is my promise I made to you…”
“SHADOW!” cried Sonic
Sonic tried to grab Shadow; he was able to grab his hand from under his bracelet, but Shadow looked as if there is something forcing him to fall…Shadow’s bracelet slipped from Shadow’s hands, leaving him falling into a glowing, white hole.
“Shadow…”Sonic thought “is he…gone?”
Sonic looked at Shadow’s bracelet. The name “Shadow” was carved on it.
“I didn’t even have a chance to apologize to him” he thought. Then he slowly returned to the colony.
CHAPTER 1 SHADOW IS BACK
Shadow opened his eyes; he saw bright, white glowing everywhere. He could feel the energy coming back to his body.
Suddenly.. the white glow began to fade….
He was back.
Back to the endless space.
“I’m alive.” He thought. “I’m not dead.”
Dead.
The word reminded him of Maria…and Proffecer Gerald.
Maria was dead..
Maria..dead..
Professor Gerald disappeared..
Professor Gerald. Disappeared..
They were his family.
But now…
They’re gone..
His life became very hard after they left him.
He felt as if he didn’t belong anywhere.
He felt lonely.
Lonely.
Shadow used the Chaos Emerald and warped back to the colony.
CHAPTER 2 RETERNING TO THE COLONY
Shadow entered the dusty colony.
“This place wasn’t as clean as it used to be …”he thought.
Shadow passed the Central Control room.
Then he stopped.
Something was glowing in the Control room.
Shadow went inside…slowly.
And approached the glowing object.
Then he forced out a tiny smile.
“It was only the computer,” he thought. “Project Shadow.” he read.
He stared at those words.
“Should I read it?” he thought. “Maybe I should.”
The words on the computer read:
Shadow the Hedgehog, the one and only ultimate life form. Shadow was created at January 19, year 1960.
He continued reading:
Shadow is a very powerful creature; it has the ability of using the Chaos Control, a powerful attack that allows it to warp from a place to another. It can also stop time. Shadow is indeed a powerful creature, but it has a warm heart.
I created Shadow because I know it will help others but then the military gaurds landed on the colony that day, they were sent to destroy Shadow. Shadow did not die… but Maria…she died when the ARK was shut down…and then…
Shadow took a few steps away from the computer, and then he ran out of the Control room with tears falling from his eyes.
CHAPTER 3 THE DIARY
Shadow entered the Research Facility with tears in his eyes. He walked to one of the big windows.
“Maria and I used to sit here…” he thought. “But now, she’s…”
Shadow felt angry, sad, and hurt all in the same time. He couldn’t hold his temper any longer that he punched the machine. Then, a small, dusty book fell from it.
Shadow held the book into his hands and blew the dust away. It was a red diary.
Shadow opened the diary. Then he let out a gasp.
“I know that handwriting!” he thought, “This is Maria’s diary!”
Shadow was desperate to read it, he read some pages that were mostly about things she helped her grandfather create and about how happy she was when Shadow was created.
Shadow read for hours until he reached the last entry that read:
Dear Diary,
I really like spending time with Shadow and Grandfather. Sometimes I wonder how life would be without them.
Shadow will feel very lonely without me. Sometimes I wonder how his life would be without me. If that ever happens, then I hope Shadow will live a normal life with new friends. I do not wish to see him alone.
That was the last entry Maria wrote.
Shadow returned the diary to it’s place, then he headed back to the Control room.
“I’m sure that the professor has some maps on the computer that I can download,” he thought as he approached the computer. He opened a file then a group of maps. “The planet Mobius,” he read Shadow continues reading. “a fun and beautiful planet” .
Shadow stopped reading. “Well, it does sound like a nice place,” he said. “Mobius, here I come!”
CHAPTER 4 MOBIUS AT LAST!
Shadow entered the room that has the space transporter and stood in front if the space transporter.
“Location,” Shadow typed “the Planet Mobius. Password…” Shadow stood quietly; he knew the password, but he couldn’t write it “I have to write it,” Shadow thought. “Maria wants me to!” He took a deep breath. “The password is: MA-RI-A” he finally typed, then he stood on a circle that was near the machine; he was transporting to Mobius!
When Shadow felt the ground beneath him, he was sure that he arrived to Mobius. He noticed that he was in a village with some huts in it.
“HEY!!” he heard a girl’s voice behind him. He turned to see a yellow female mongoose about his age running toward him. The girl had purple hair and green eyes. She looked surprised “What are you doing here?” she asked, “I thought were at that island!”
“What? What Freedom Fighters? And what island?” said Shadow who looked confused, “What are you talking about? I don’t even know you!”
“Sonic! I…”
“Wait!” Shadow interrupted, “You know Sonic the Hedgehog? Where is he now? I have to see him!”
“Sonic! Stop joking! You and the other Freedom Fighters are supposed to…wait..” The girl looked at Shadow harder, “You aren’t Sonic. But that’s impossible!”
“Sheesh! I hate it when people mistake me for Sonic!” Shadow thought. “Listen!” he told the girl, “I know that I look like Sonic.. well sort of look like him.. But I’m not him! Well, anyway, do you know where I can find him?”
“Well..” the girl looked a little nervous , “ Well, if you aren’t Sonic, then who are you?” demanded the girl.
“My name is..” he was about to tell her his name, but then he remembered something “If I tell her my real name, she might be suspicious or something, my name doesn’t really fit here..” he thought.
“Well?” said the girl.
“My name is… Shad!!” he finally answered, “Shad the Hedgehog!” He remembered when Maria used to nickname him “Shad” when she was alive.
“When she was alive..” Shadow thought sadly.
“Uh, is something wrong?” Shadow heard the girl ask.
“Huh? Um, no. What can possibly be wrong?” said Shadow who let out a tiny smile.
“Okay. Well, nice to me you, Shad!” said the girl” By the way, I’m Mina the Mongoose. You must be new to Knothole, I’ve never seen you from before.”
“Well, Sonic isn’t here right now, and I don’t know when he’ll come back, so maybe I can show you around..If you want.”
“Okay.” Shadow replied.
So Mina showed Shadow.. Errrr, Shad around. (Things are getting really confusing, aren’t they?) :Hey, Shad,” said Mina “Where are you from?”
“Why did she have to ask?” Shad thought. “Errr, can you wait for a sec?” Shad asked, then he opened his backpack and looked for the map, but then he noticed that he forgot it! He sighed, then he closed his backpack. “I’m from … um, hey, I’m getting really hungry! Can’t we go to eat something first?”
“Okay, we can go to my hut. And since you don’t have a place to spend the night in, you can stay in my hut; don’t worry my Mom won’t mind.”
“Um, okay.. I guess.”
“Great!” Mina cried out loud, then she blushed, she just remembered that she read a book about how to get a guy’s attention, it said that she shouldn’t act like a crazy person or else the guy might leave her, “um, I mean, uh okay let’s go.” She grabbed Shad’s hand; Shad blushed as Mina took him to her house.
“A pretty girl is actually holding my hand!” Shad thought, “this never happened from before.. but does this mean that I.. love her? Or maybe she loves me.. but I hardly know her!”
“I’m actually holding a cute guy’s hand!” Mina thought, “This is probably the best day of my life! Sally doesn’t know about Shad, so she can have Sonic and then Shad will be all MINE!”
CHAPTER 5 MINA’S HOME
NOTE: Listen, people or aliens -whatever- this story feels strange without some comedy in it! So, I decided to put some funny things in it, okay?)
“Hello, Mina.” Mina’s mother greeted her daughter as she and Shad came in, “Oh, Sonic came back? How nice of you to drop by for a visit, Sonic!”
Shadow faints like -Japanese cartoon style! - (Don’t worry, you know cartoons, they faint then wake up after a few seconds.)
“Um, Momma,” Mina said, “this isn’t Sonic. And since he doesn’t know what we’re doing now ‘cause he just fainted, I’ll explain everything” Mina explained to her mother (Which took about 3 minutes.) “And, Momma, I wont call you Momma when Shad’s around; he’d think I’m a baby!”
“Well, okay, sweetie,” replied the mother. Then she noticed that Shad just woke up. “Um, why don’t you two have some fun? In the meantime, I’ll make you two dinner.”
“Okay, Momm.. Uh, I mean Mom.” Replied Mina who grabbed Shad again which caused him to blush again, and then they went to watch TV.
CHAPTER 6 THE WORST DINNER EVER
“Dinner is ready.” Mina’s mother finally said, Shad and Mina sat on the small table, which had only two chairs; because Mina explained to her mom that she and Shadow need their privacy. Then, Mina’s mother went to sleep.
“Hey,” Shad told said to Mina when her mom left, “well, this question might bother you, but why is your mom a robot?”
Mina explained that Dr. Eggman robotcized lots of Mobiens in the past. She also explained that Sonic’s parents and his uncle were robotcized too.
“Oh, I’m so sorry..” said Shad who blushed again.
“That’s okay,” Mina said, “But, um, aren’t you suppose to know that? You’re a Mobien after all.”
“I..I..” said Shad who didn’t know how to reply, “I..I.. I got to go!” then he ran out of the house with tears in his eyes.
“Wait!” Mina followed Shad, “Where are you gonna spend the night?”
Shad didn’t reply, he just ran. He didn’t know what to do.
CHAPTER 7 ONE YEAR TO REVIVE
Shad ran out of Knothole and found himself at the beach, “I wonder if anyone could help me here,” he thought, “but I guess I arrived at the wrong time, it’s almost 1 o’clock in the morning.” He sighed.
Shad sat near the water, then he began thinking about how he left Mina’s house, “She probably thinks that I’m crazy!” he thought, “But what else could I do? I even know what to do or say if I ever see her again..”
Shad just sat in his place, staring at the sea.. “SONIC!” he heard another voice that belonged to a female, but this voice was familiar! He turned around and saw a figure running toward him, he didn’t really see the figure’s face, since it was too dark. When the figure was closer, Shad saw the girl’s face and let out a gasp. The girl did the same.
“Amy?!” Shad said nervously.
“Shadow?!” Amy said at the same time, “No.. this can’t be true.. you ..died.. every.. everyone knows that you..died..” she took a few steps backwards.
“No, I didn’t die..” Shadow (I’ll say Shad for short.) explained that he was revived by the white whole that he fell into.
“Wow,” said Amy, “I just can’t believe that you are okay after a year of defeating the Ultimate Prototype.”
“I took a year to revive?” Shad asked, “Gosh, it didn’t seem that long.. no wonder I was hungry all the time!” Shad reached his backpack for some food, then he realized that he forgot it at Mina’s house! Then he began sweat dropping.
“Hey, we can eat at my house!” said Amy.
“Okay,” Shad replied, “where is your house?”
Amy gave him directions, “But it’ll take ‘bout half an hour to get there.” She explained.
“You mean, half a second!” Replied Shad who grabbed Amy’s hand and ran to Amy’s house. He stopped then looked at Amy’s watch, “Well, less than half a second, actually.” He said, “When do we eat? I’m starving to death here!”
“Right.. this…wa.way..” answered Amy who looked really dizzy and began sweat dropping. The she fainted (Japanese cartoons style! YAAAAAY!!).
Shad sighed, “I guess folks just don’t like running these days..” he sighed again, then he carried Amy into the house.
CHAPTER 8 DINNER IS SEARVED!
“AAAAAAAAHH!!!” Amy screamed as she felt something cold hit her face, she opened her eyes and saw Shad, who was holding a bucket with a few water drops dropping from it.
“Sorry,” said Shad who blushed and helped Amy get up, “you fainted when we arrived here, and I waited for you to wake up for about two hours now!” Shad’s stomach made some noises, “Um, did I mention that I’m hungry?”
“Okay, don’t do that again, okay? You relax while I make dinner.”
“Um, it’s 3 o’clock right now..”
“Err, I mean breakfast.”
So, Amy finishes cooking “breakfast” and puts her food and Shad’s food on the table, “I’ll bring some juice, you eat up right now.” Said Amy who went to bring some juice, (Which took 20 seconds.) then she heard a loud burp from the room that Shad was sitting in, she went to see what Shad was doing, then she saw Shad’s plate AND her plate both empty.
“Sorry,” said Shad, “I was really hungry, and I guess I still am.. and.. hey! I’M THIRSTY!!” he grabbed a glass of juice from Amy and drank every single drop of it! Then, he burped -AGAIN!-(SHEESH! Don’t you girls hate it when a guy eats and drinks everything up? Then they start burping! MEN! Well, but that doesn’t make Shad an idiot unless he wants to! Why, you ask? Well.. it’s because.. I SAID SO!!!!!!!!)
“ ‘scuse me!” Shad said.
“That’s okay,” replied Amy, then she yawned, “I think I’m gonna sleep right now.. hey, Shadow where are you gonna spend the night..err, I mean morning?”
Shadow answered by snoring softly with his eyes closed. “I guess he didn’t even hear me,” she thought, “G’night, Shadow.” She said softly, and then she closed the lights and went to her room to sleep.
CHAPTER 10 WHERE IS SONIC?
“Okaaaaaaaay,” Shad told himself as he stood on the beach, “this isn’t as easy as I thought.”, he said as he looked at the sea, “The map says I have to cross the sea to get to the island.. and the problem is……I CAN’T SWIM!!! Now what the heck am I supposed to do?” he complained.
“Hey, kid,” he turned and saw a fat walrus wearing a fisherman’s hat talking to him, “incase ya didn’t notice, there is a place to rent boats on yer left.” Shad turned and saw a hut that had a sighn that read “Rent your boats here! VERY CHEEP!” Shad sweat dropped, “Why didn’t I see it from before?” Shad complained.
“Beats me.” Said the walrus, “Ask the writer, I’d bet she knows why.”
“Mmmmm, good idea!” he said, then he looks at the sky, “Hey Shadow Girl!!” he cried, “How come I didn’t notice that boat place from before?”
“ Wait!” My voice can be heard from the sky, “I’m gonna come and explain why, WATCH OUT!!” then I fall from the sky and land on the fat walrus, “Lemme explain for you, Shad,” then I pull a black board from my pocket that has some confusing things written on it, then I start saying confusing things really fast. When I finished, I returned the black board to my pocket.
“Gosh,” said Shad, “I didn’t know you were that smart. But how did you put that black board in you pocket?”
“That’s easy!” I said, “But my pocket fits for other things too! Wanna see?” then I pulled a few items from my pocket, such as twenty bombs, fifty guns, ten million bazookas, a house, a TV, a Game Cube, a Play Station 2, some comics, “Oooops! How’d this get in here?” I said as I pulled a picture of Shad.
“What’s that?” Shad asked.
“Errrr, NOTHING!” I said as I put Shad’s picture back to my pocket along with the other items, “Now you have to rent a boat from that place.”
“Then what do I do?”
“You have to figure that out.”
“Excuse me,” said the fat walrus, “can ya please get off my back?”
“Mmmmmmm,” I think for at least an hour, “ooops! Look at the time! I stayed here to long! Me and my friends are supposed to burn the school and kill some teachers right now! Well, bye, Shad!’
“Bye!” Shad said as he watched me hop on the fat walrus’s stomach very hard which caused me to go up somewhere in the sky. Then he went to rent a boat at that place.
“Mmmmmmm, I wanna rent a boat, please.” Shad said to the other fat walrus that was sitting behind the counter inside the boat place.
“Okay, kid.” said the walrus, “One boat’ll cost ya 1000000 dollars.”
“WHAT?!” Shad cried, “But I really need the boat! And I only have 20 bucks!”
“Well, that’s yer problem.” Said the walrus.
“Listen, fatso! I...” before Shad could continue what he was saying, the walrus grabbed Shad’s neck and shaked him really hard.
“LISTEN YA LOUSY HOG! NOBODY CALLS ME A FATSO AND GETS AWAY WITH IT! NOW YOU SHALL SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES!!” then he belly-bumped the poor hedgehog, which caused him to crash into the roof and fly away screaming his head off and disappearing with a little shiny star popping out (Like when Team Rocket cry “It looks like Team Rocket is basting off agaaaaaaain!” in Pok’emon!)! Ouch! I’m sure the bell-bump hurted even more than anything else!
CHAPTER 11 THE ISLAND
Shad opened his eyes and found himself at a beach, “I guess that fatso isn’t so bad after all!” Shad told himself, “He made me come here for free! Now, where’d I put that map?” Shad reaches for the backpack that Amy gave him, then he gulped, the backpack wasn’t with him!
“AAAAAAGH!” he screamed, “I’LL GET YOU FOR THIS YOU FREEKY FAT WALRUS!”
“I HEARD THAT YA LOUSY KID!!” he heard the walrus’s voice, “IF I WASN’T THIS FAT THEN YOU’LL FIND ME PUNCHING THE HELL OUTTA YOU!”
“BUT YOU ALLREADY ADDMITED THAT YOU’RE FAT!”
“UM, YEAH! BUT THAT DOESN’T COUNT!”
“WHATEVER! I HAVE SOME WORK TO DO SO I’M NOT GONNA WASTE ANY TIME WITH YOU!” Then he turned and saw a jungle, “I wonder if Sonic is here,” he thought, then he saw a tall tree next to him, he decided to climb it so that he can see the whole island, so he reached the top of the tree, the jungle was bigger than he thought it would be, and there were three big mountains, he saw almost everything, but he couldn’t see if there was somebody since the trees were too big, then he returned to the ground.
“Okaaaaaaaay,” he said, “I guess I should go to one of those mountains.” Then he entered the jungle, he decided to walk so that he wouldn’t miss seeing anyone (If there was an anyone except for him on the island).
He walked for a few hours, “Now,” he thought, “ where’s Sonic? This is really starting to..” he was interrupted by a female shriek,” Someone’s in trouble!” he told himself, then he quickly followed the source of the scream, he then noticed that the scream was coming from behind some bushes on his left, he peeked threw the bushes and saw a part squirrel and part chipmunk, that wore a blue vest and matching blue boots, lying on the ground, two robots were standing in front of her. One of the robots carried her and put his hand on her mouth so that no one hears her screams, “The Princess has been captured, Boss.” Said the other robot as he talked to some one with a sort-of cell phone.
“GOOD!” a voice said from the other line, “Now, I want you two to bring her to me for robotization!”
“NO WAY!” The robots turned and saw a spiky black ball coming toward them, the object hit them, the robots were destroyed, the black turned out to be Shad, “WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE?!” Shad heard a voice from the cell phone.
Shad took the cell phone and put it next to his ear, “Listen, Egghead!” he said, “You won’t be robotizing anyone with me alive!”, “I’m warning you,” he said quietly, “you better surrender.. unless you wanna get hurt! SAYONARA!” then he threw the cell phone on the ground and stepped on it very hard, which caused it to brake into peaces. “Are you okay?” he asked the girl.
“Sonic?” She said softly. “Is that you?”
“WHERE IS HE?!” He asked the girl.
“Wait a second! You aren’t Sonic! Who are you?”
Shad sighed, “You’re no help at all.”
“What do you.. hey! Where’d he go?”
CHAPTER 12 SOME ONE ELSE IS IN TROUBLE!“
“Well,” Shad thought, “At least Ii did ask someone where Sonic is.. even though I didn’t get an answer.. O wonder if there’s anyone else on this….” Shad stopped, he finally arrived to one of the mountains, “Great! Maybe Sonic is..” he heard a weird sound, he looked down at his feet, then he noticed a big, round shadow instead of his own shadow, then he looked at the sky, “WHAT THE….!” He quickly moved away from the huge boulder that was about to fall on him, “That was close.. but how’d this happen? Is someone trying to.. kill me?” he looked at the mountain, “It seems that the boulder fell from up there.. something’s not right here.. I guess climbing this mountain will help me, but I don’t know how it’ll help me, though.” He used his speed and climbed the mountain, then he remembered a cave he saw on the top of the mountain when he climbed the tree he saw when he arrived to the island, when he reached the cave he saw four robots standing in font of the cave, and the entrance was blocked by a few boulders.
“Trapping that one was harder than I thought.” Said a robot.
“Indeed! No wonder the boss sended all the four of us!” said another robot. “Well,” said another one, “this one is half robotized, she is the strongest on of the Freedom Fighters!”
“But we did capture her!” said the last robot, “Now all we have to do is make sure that she does not escape until the Boss comes to complete her robotization! And he will use the new potion that will make her evil!”
“Oh no!” Shad thought, “They must be talking about one of the Freedom Fighters! And she’s in trouble!”
“As soon as the Boss finishes robotizing her and becoming the ruler of Mobius, I will be the first one to ask her out!” said the first robot.
“No way!” said another one, “I want t ask her out, too!”
Then all four robots begin arguing.
“No one’s gonna ask her out,” Shad said, “That’s because all of you are gonna be..” he quickly destroys them, “destroyed!” he finally completed his sentence. Then he used the Spin Dash and entered the cave, “WHOA! THIS PLACE IS BURNING HOT! HOW COME?”
“That’s because this cave is an active volcano.” Shad turned to see who answered his question, “WHAT THE…? DIDN’T I DESTRIY YOU?????!!!!” he asked the robot head that was in front of the entrance.
“Um, you destroyed my brothers,” replied the robot’s head as he looked at his brothers.. errrr..I mean what’s left of his destroyed brothers, “but I guess I’m still not completely destroyed.. can you please destroy my head now? I’d be really grateful! I just cannot see my brothers shattered into peaces ! And I will take that as a “thank you” from you because I answered two of your questions! So will please do this for me?”
“Mmmmmmmmmmm, OKAY!” Shad said, then he stepped on the robot’s head, which caused it to break.
“That was a fun game!” Shad said, “Wait a second, what the hell am I doing?! Aasya wyda! (That’s how they say “Play Time is over” and “There is no time to play games” in Japanese! I discovered that when I made the characters in Sonic Adventure 2 Battle speak in Japanese! Try it today!).
“Now,” Shad said, “where could I find that Freedom Fighter?”
“Is anybody theah?” he heard a girl’s voice call from nowhere, the girl seemed to have a Southern accent.
“Yeah!” Shad called back, “Where are you!”
“I fell inside a deep hole when I was tryin’ to find a way out!” the girl called back, “I was gonna use mah supah strength to break the big bouldah in the entrance.. but I was too tiered.. and ah don’t think ah have enough energy to do that! And now, mah arm got stuck somewah, and it’s too dark! I can’t see! Can ya help me, sugah?”
“OKAY!” Shad replied,” You stay in your place, I’ll start looking for you and see if I can help!”
“Okay! Hurry, sugah! This place is gettin’ even more hot every minute!”
Shad searched for the girl for about ten minutes, then he suddenly stopped, “Why the hell am I doing this?” he asked himself, “If I run, then I’ll probably find her faster than this way!” so, our hero runs, searching for the mysterious girl, “Where the hell could she…AAAAAGH!” Shad fell in a hole as he was running, “YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!” then he suddenly came out of the hole, “MAN! THAT PLACE IS A BURNING HOT!”
“Sorry, sugah!” he heard the girl’s voice again, “I think ya fell on mah robotized leg! But can ya please find a way to get me outta here?”
Shad sighed, “I do..” he answered, “but I know I’m not gonna like this..” he sighed again. Shad bravely jumped into the hole and screamed his head off when he reached the bottom (Poor guy.. I’m making him suffer too much.. how can I make it up to him…? I know! I’ll feed him some cookies after I finish this chapter! You see, Shad knows that his fans wanna know what’ll happen next, so I’ll make him happy by making him cookies and making his fans happy! And his fans will be happy by knowing what’ll happen next! And me happy by making him and his fans and everyone else happy! I know, I know.. I’m soooo nice to be true… hey! A fly just came on my picture of Shad.. AND RIGHT ON HIS FACE!!! *Carefully grabs the fly so that the picture doesn’t get ruined or anything* DIE YOU GOOD-FOR-NOTHONG FLY! *Squashes the stupid fly into almost 100000000000000000000000000 pieces*) Back to the story, Shad comes out of the hole screaming his head off, but he didn’t come alone this time, he was holding a yellow female rabbit with short yellow hair, the rabbit’s legs were robotized, and so was her left arm.
“I NEED WAAAAAAAAAAATER!!!!” Shad screamed and quickly got out of the cave and went to the beach and put his hands in the waters of the sea, “Aaaaaaaaaaah! That’s better!” then he quickly returned to the cave.
“C’mon!” Shad told the rabbit, “We have to get outta here!” he grabbed her right arm -which isn’t robotized- and they both went out of the cave.
“Thanks fer saving me!” the girl said, “I’m Bunnie Rabbot! I’m one of the Freedom Fighters! And who may you be? Ya look kinda like Sonic!”
“I’m…. hey, where is Sonic right now?”
“Well, me and the other Freedom Fighters came here because we heard that this island appeared outta nowhere! So we came here to investigate. Then we split up, and ah went to that mountain that we were just in. Then some of Dr. Eggman’s robots attacked me and trapped me in that cave.”
“Oh, well, who are the other Freedom Fighters?”
“Well, there’s me, Sonic, Antoine D’Coolette, Rotor (I dunno his last name), Tails.. well, his name is Miles Prower but we’ all nickname him Tails, and Princess Sally Acorn.
“Um, does the Princess wear a blue vest and blue boots?”
“Yup.”
“Hey,” Bunnie said softly, then she tickled Shad’s nose and closed her eyes, “yer fast and cute! (She said that to Sonic when they first met in Sonic Firsts - the comic-) ya still didn’t tell me yer name, sugah.. whut the.. where’d he go?” she was surprised to see that her new hero disappeared.
“Well,” she thought, “I better get goin’..” then she left. As Shad watched her from the top of a tree without her noticing.
CHAPTER 13 SHAD MEETS THE OTHER FREEDOM FIGHTERS (I KNOW IT’S A STUPID TITLE)
“Okay, “Shad though, “I’ve been in this island for about eight hours or so, and I still didn’t find Sonic..” Shad looked at the sky, he saw many stars tonight, but he can’t compare them to the stars he saw when he was at the ARK, these stars aren’t even half the stars he saw on the colony.
“Oh, well, I guess I should sleep right now, but first I have to find a safe place to hide.” He walked for 30 minutes, then he noticed that the place was smelling like smoke, “I wonder why.. I hope there isn’t a fire or anything. Maybe I should follow the smell.”
So Shad followed the smell, then he heard some voices coming from behind some bushes, he peeked through the bushes, he saw a fox, a purple walrus with green eyes, and he even saw Bunnie, Tails, and Princess Sally.
“Then I asked him who he was,” Sally explained, “but he just left.” “He didn’t tell me who he was, either.” Bunnie said.
“How did he look like?” The walrus asked.
“He looked a little like Sonic, Rotor.” Sally answered.
“But he was black, and he has a some red stripes.” Bunnie added.
“HEY! I THINK I KNOW HIM!” Tails said.
“How do you know him?” asked the other fox. He had a French accent.
“Um, never mind.”
“C’mon, sugah!” Bunnie said, “You can tell us.”
“I..”
“Well?” Sally said.
“I..I JUST CAN’T SAY IT!”
“Why not?” asked the fox.
“I don’t think Tails will let us now, Antoine.” Rotor told the fox.
“It’s okay, Tails.” Sally told him softly, “Nothing bad is going to happen if you tell us.”
“It’s not that I don’t want to tell anyone..” Tails explained. “It’s just that..” Tails looked at the campfire sadly for about ten seconds. “It’s really hard to tell.. and I’m not quite sure if I know the person you two are talking about.”
“Well, you can at least tell us what the his name is.” Bunnie said to Tails, “Maybe he told it to us but we didn’t realize that or somethin’”.
“Okay..” Tails finally said, “his name was..huh?” Tails saw a shadowy figure with two red eyes hideing behind the bushes.
“Whut’s wrong, sugah?” Bunnie asked
“THARE’S SOME..SOMETHING OVER THERE!” Tails cried as he pointed at the bushes.
“DO NOT WORRY!” Antoine said, as he pulled a sword, “I WILL GET IT!” he ran toward the bushes and jumped over them. The other Freedom Fighters heard Antoine scream.
“Oh no!” Sally cried, “Somebody do something! I think it’s coming closer!” she closed her eyes.
“Hey, isn’t this yours?” The Freedom Fighters saw Shad pointing at Antoine.
“Hey!” Sally cried, “You’re the one who saved me!”
“Remember me, sugah?” Bunnie asked him, then she giggled.
“Um, yeah..” Shad answered, then he looked at Tails, “Hi.”
“Shadow?” Tails said as he took a few steps backwards, “How did you..”
“I’ll explain everything,” Shad said, “just give me something to eat!”
“… then I found you guys here.” Shad finished explaining what happened to him.
“The white whole you fell in must have been a Energy Whole.” Rotor said.
“What the hell is that?” Everyone asked Rotor. “I dunno. The writer says I’m supposed to say that.”
“Oh.”
“Hey, where’s Sonic?” Shad asked.
“We dunno.” Tails said, “We all split up, but we decided to meet here later.”
“Shouldn’t we find him?”
“It’s better if we just stay here and wait for him.” Antoine said.
“Yeah.” Rotor said, “ What if we leave then Sonic comes back and doesn’t find us?”
“They’re both right.” Sally said, “Why don’t we all just sleep right now? Tomorrow’s gonna be a big day.”
“Yer right.” Bunnie agreed.
“Where is Shadow supposed to sleep?” Tails asked.
“He can sleep with Antoine.” Sally said.
“But..” Antoine was interrupted by Shad.
“That’s okay,” Shad said, I’d rather guard the camp. You never know what might happen in places like this.”
“Okay.” Everyone agreed, then they went to sleep as Shad climbed the nearest tree so that he could make sure that nobody else enters the camp.
“I hope Shadow will be okay..” Sally thought as she went to sleep, without realizing that Bunnie also had a crush on Shadow, too.
CHAPTER 14 AN ISLAND THAT DOESN’T EXXIST (ANOTHER STUPID TITLE)
“WAKE UP, SHADOW!!” “Huh?” Shad opened his eyes, the Freedom Fighters were looking at him from beneath the tree.
“Come on, sleepy head!” Tails cried.
“Just gimme a few more minutes..” Shad said, he shut his eyes again.
“Too bad..” Sally said, “Hey, Bunnie, is there anymore fruits left for breakfast? I don’t think Shadow will eat his fruits, and Tails said he’s still hungry..”
“But I didn’t say..” Tails was interrupted by Shad.
“NOOOO!” Shad cried as he jumped off of the tree, “Where’s breakast?!”
Everyone laughed, then Shad blushed.
“Breakfast is right here, sugah!” Bunnie said as she gave Shad some fruits.
Sally felt a little angry when Bunnie called Shad “Sugah”.
“I hope she’s not planning to steal him from me..SOME FRIEND!” Sally thought as she watched Shad eating his breakfast really fast, the others laughed, Sally joined them.
“Do you think Sonic is on one of the other mountains?” Tails asked as he and the Freedom Fighters and Shad began searching for Sonic.
“Maybe..” Rotor said, “Hey, maybe Nicole knows! We didn’t ask her anything ever since we arrived here, or when the fishermen told us about this island.”
“Who’s Nicole?” Shad asked.
Sally pulled out a small device, it looked like a small laptop, “This is Nicole.”
“You mean, you actually give your computer a name?”
“Um, no. Nicole understands everything! She can talk and download some information about almost everything!”
“Oh.”
“Nicole, do you know where we can find Sonic?” Sally asked Nicole.
“Wait, this’ll take a few minutes.” Nicole said.
Everyone stood in their places, waiting for Nicole to reply.
“Guys,” Tails said, “incase you didn’t notice.. WE WERE STANDING HERE FOR ALMOST TWO HOURS!!”
“Sorry,” Nicole finally replied, “but I didn’t find anything.”
“Uh-oh.” Sally said, she turned to the others, “DO YOU NO WHAT THIS MEENS?!”
“Nicole’s sick?” Tails asked.
“Or maybe she doesn’t have enough energy.” Rotor said.
“NO! YOU IDIOTS!” Sally cried, “WE’RE IN AN ISLAND THAT DOESN’T EVEN EXIST!”
“If this place doesn’t exist, then what is it doing here?” Bunnie asked.
“I don’t know..” Sally replied, “But we better find Sonic and get outta here!”
“Okay, everyone,” Shad said, “You guys wait here, I’ll search for him in the mountains, if I don’t come back before tomorrow morning, then the best thing for you to do is leave this place.”
“But..” Sally and Bunnie said in the same time.
“No buts!” Shad said, “Trust me..”
“Okay..” Everyone replied, Shad use his speed and ran toward the mountains, leaving the Freedom Fighters with nothing to do.. except for praying for both Sonic and Shadow to return safely.
CHAPTER 15 ANOTHER VOLCANO (I HAVE THE STUPIDEST TITTLES)
“OH NOOOOOOO!” Shad complained, “NOT ANOTHER VOLCANO!!”
Shad finally reached the top of the mountain, but he was disappointed to find out that this mountain also had a cave fulled of lava.
Shad sighed, “I guess I’ll just have to find him..” Shad began searching for Sonic.
“Man, where the hell could he be?”
“SONIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIC!!” Shad cried, it wasn’t the first time, he called his name for more than twenty times.
“WHO’S THERE?!” A voice called.
“SONIC!” Shad called, “IS THAT YOU?”
“HELLLLP!” Sonic cried.
“Well, it sounded like Sonic,” Shad thought, “WHERE ARE YOU?”
No one replied.
“OKAY!” Shad called, “I’M COMEING, SONIC!” Shad quickly ran around the cave, he didn’t know where Sonic really was, though.
“SONIC!” Shad called again as he ran, “IF YOU WANNA GET OUTTA HERE, THEN JUST TELL ME WHERE YOU..AAAAAAAH!” Shad screamed as he fell in another hole.
A deep hole.
CHAPTER 16 ROBOTNIK, SONIC, AND SHADOW (ANOTHER STUPID TITTLE)
Shad opened his eyes slowly, he tried to move, but only his head moved, he looked at his body and realized that he was lying on the ground, all tied up.
“So, Shadow..” A voice called, “we meet again.”
Shad looked at the shadowy figure that approached him, “ROBOTNIK!” Shad cried.
“So, you’re still alive..” Robotnik said, “I don’t know how you survived, but you and your friend won’t be breathing anymore..” Robotnik pointed at Sonic, who was also lying on the ground, and was tied up as well.
“SONIC!” Shad cried, “HOW’D THIS HAPPEN?”
“Some of Robotnik’s robots popped outta nowhere and attacked me..” Sonic said, “I guess I fainted.. then I woke up and found myself here..”
“You two pests are now in my secret laboratory.” Robotnik explained, “This island is actually a secret place I invented, I never thought that anyone is stupid enough to come to a place that suddenly appeared. But I guess that you two and the Freedom Fighters were stupid enough to come here..” Robotnik pulled out a small remote from his pocket, “And don’t even think that you two and the Freedom Fighters will get out of here alive!” Robotnik pressed one of the buttons on the remote, then a door opened and ten robots came out.
“WHAT ARE YOU DOING!” Sonic cried at Robotnik.
“What does it look like?” Robotnik replied, “I’m just going to let my robots destroy you two and the Freedom Fighters, I’d love to see you two dying.. but I’m too busy making plans to take over Mobius!” Robotnik laughed evilly as he pressed another button, which caused him to disappear.
Five robots approached Shad, and the other five approached Sonic.
“I don’t think we’ll survive this time, Shadow..” Sonic said, “sorry..”
“NO!” Shad cried, “WE WILL SURVIVE!”
The robots surrounded Shad, the one at the back seemed to have some sort of sword, it was the first robot to attack, it jumped very high, trying to hit Shad with the sword, but Shad tricked the robot into cutting the ropes on his hands and feet, “Thanks,” Shad said, then he used the Homeing attack and destroyed the five robots, then he helped Sonic out, they both finally destroyed the robots.
“Thanks, Shadow.” Sonic told Shad.
“No problem.” Shad replied, “C’mon! We gotta stop that egghead!” Shad ran out of the room.
“Did Shadow actually call Eggman an egghead?” Sonic thought.
“Aren’t you coming?” Shad called.
“Huh? Um, yeah!” Sonic joined Shad. They both ran around the place until they reached Eggman and his assistant, Snively. They both managed to defeat them.
“C’MON!” Sonic cried, “WE GOTTA GET OUTTA HERE OR ELSE WE’RE GONNA EXPLODE WITH THOSE TWO! YOU MANAGED TO PUSH EGGMAN ON THE “SELFDISSTURUCK” BUTTON, REMEMBER? C’MON, LETS GET OUTTA HERE!”
They both used their speed and reached the Freedom Fighters, they just pushed them into the “Tornado”, and Sonic drove the plane, they finally left the island and heard a big explosion behind them.
“What happened?” Rotor asked.
Shad explained everything to them. “By the way,” Shad told Sonic, “I didn’t know that you knew how to fly a plane.”
Sonic gulped. “BUT I CAN’T FLY A PLANE!”
“WHAT!” Shad cried.
Everyone panicked.
“Wait,” Tails said, “I’m the one who always flies the plane, so maybe I can fly it again!”
“Oh, I forgot that you’re the one who always flies the plane.” Sonic said.
So, Tails flied the plane, Shad decided to sit at the back seat so that he won’t bother Sonic or Tails.
“You can sit here, sugah!” Bunnie offered Shad a seat next to her.
“NO!” Sally said, “You can sit here!” She offered Shad a seat next to her.
“Um, I’ll just sit..” Shad was interrupted by the two girls arguing about where Shad should sit. Shad sweat dropped.
“Um, guys?” Shad said to the others, “If they ever stop arguing, then just tell them that I’m sitting on the planes right wing, kay?
“Okay.” Everyone -except for the girls- replied as Shad sat on the plane’s wing and let out a small laugh.
CHAPTER 17 BACK TO KNOTHOLE
Everyone jumped out of the plane when they arrived to Knothole, they were all really happy to arrive safely.
“Man,” Sonic said, “I’m hungry!”
“Aren’t we all?” Sally said.
“Lets celebrate!” Tails said.
“Celebrate what?” Shad asked.
“Well,” Sonic said, “we defeated Ro-butt-nik, and arrived here safely.”
“Oh, okay.”
“HEY EVERYONE!” Everyone turned and saw Amy running toward them, she looked happy to see everyone, she finally stopped when she reached them, “I’m glad you guys made it!” she looked at Shad, “Hey, Shadow! Did you enjoy the island?” then she giggled.
“I guess I did have some fun.” He replied.
“HEY GUYS!” Everyone turned and saw Mina, “I’m glad you guys made it!” she turned to Shad, “Hey, Shad!” she said.
“SHAD?” Everyone looked confused.
Shad sweat dropped, “Uhhhhhh, when’s dinner?” he said.
“There’s dinner for everyone!” Mina said, “C’mon! Let’s eat!”
“Hey!” Amy said, “I made them dinner, too!”
“Hey,” Shad said, “I can eat more then two meals, so there isn’t really a problem!”
Everyone laughed.
“Mmmmm, that’s the best dinner I ever had!” Sonic said as he finished eating his chilidog.
“You always say that when you finish eating chili dogs!” Rotor said.
“Sonic,” Tails said, “you only ate ten chili dogs, and now you say you’re full! Are you feeling okay?”
Everyone laughed.
“Yeah, I’m okay,” Sonic said, “I guess I’m just full. Hey, Shadow, do ya want the last chilidog?”
“No way!” Shad cried, “You dared me to eat thirty chilidogs! I can’t eat another chilidog anymore!”
“Okay okay!” Sonic said, “Hey, Shadow, where are you gonna spend the night?”
“Uh, I dunno..”
“You can stay with me, if ya want.”
“Well, okay, just don’t force me to eat chilidogs every day!”
Everyone laughed.
“Hey, Shadow,” Mina said, “are you gonna go to school next Monday?” (I forgot to mention that Shad explained everything to Mina)
“Uh, I dunno..”
“C’mon! School is boring, but you’ll meet lots of people there!”
“Well..” Shad thought for a few minutes, “okay.. I guess.”
“Great! I’ll help you out with anything you need! We’ll just need to get you some things, like notebooks, pencils, a backpack.. and clothes.”
“I have to wear clothes?”
“It’s more polite to wear clothes. And besides, if you wear cool clothes, then you’ll be popular!”
“Okay..”
Night came, and everyone was at their homes sleeping. Except for Mina, Sally, Bunnie, and Amy. They knew that each girl liked Shadow. They didn’t really feel like sleeping because of that. Each girl wanted Shad all for herself.
CHAPTER 18 SCHOOL’S KINDA COOL (NOT IN MY OPINION)
“SHAD!” “Huh?” Shad opened his eyes, he saw Sonic standing next to him, Shad was lying on his bed, “What izzz it, Zoniiiiiiiiczzzzzzzz?” he asked in a sleepy voice.
“First of all,” Sonic said, “My name isn’t Zoniiiiiiiiczzzzzzzz! And second of all, WAKE UP! It’s Monday! Your first day of school!”
“But I duwanna.. SCHOOL?! Why didn’t you say that from the first place?!” Shad jumped out of the bed and ran toward the bathroom, he quickly took a bath and brushed his teeth, then he wore his new clothes, black baggy jeans and a red T-shirt, and he finally brushed his hair. Then he went to eat breakfast with Sonic, Tails, and Sonic’s family.
“Hey, Shad!” Sonic said, “Lookin’ good!”
“Yeah!” Tails said.
“Uh, thanks.” Shad replied, then he sat down and ate his pancake.
“I’m gonna go to school too!” Tails said.
“You’re going to the elementary school, Tails.” Sonic explained, “Shadow’s going to High school.”
“I know.” Tails said.
“I didn’t really get much sleep last night,” Shad explained, “I guess I’m kinda nervous..”
“Don’t worry,” Sonic said, “Mina and Amy are gonna go with you, too.”
“Amy’s at High school?” Shad asked.
“Nope,” Sonic said, “Middle school. She’s only twelve years old.”
“Oh. But why don’t you and the other Freedom Fighters go?”
“We never know when we’ll be called on another important mission, but we still study and train when we have time.”
The doorbell rang.
“That’s probably Mina,” Tails said, “we better get going. Bye. Sonic!”
“Yeah, bye!” Shad said as he and Tails got out of the house.
“Bye, guys!” Sonic said.
“Hey, guys!” Mina greeted Shad and Tails, “Ready for school?”
“Not really..” Tails said.
“Um, I guess..” Shad said.
“C’mon! We have to pick Amy up, too!” Mina said. Then they picked Amy from her house, then they all walked to school together. When they arrived, Tails and Amy went to their schools, Mina and Shad went to their school, Knothole High.
“Wow,” Shad said as he and Mina entered the school, “this place sure is crowded.”
“Well, It IS a school.” Mina said, “Okay, Shad, you changed your name into “Shad”; so I’ll have to call you that, and don’t tell anyone around here that you changed your name, okay?”
“’Kay.”
“Okay! Your first class is math, mine is history, so I wont be with you at your first class, but you can still make new friends, and I’ll tell some people about you.”
”Okay.”
The first bell rang. Mina showed Shad where to go, “Later, Shad!” Mina said as she went to her class.
“Yeah, later.” Shad said as he went to his class.
Shad entered the class, there were many kids about his age there, they were making noise, talking, and jumping all around the place. But they all stopped when Shad took a seat.
“Who is that guy?” Someone whispered.
“I dunno,” Someone else said, “but he looks like he’s new here.”
“What a hottie!” Shad heard a girl whisper to her friend, the girl then noticed that Shad heard her and saw her, they both blushed.
Then everyone just continued what they were doing until the teacher came. The teacher was a brown squirrel and she wore a dark blue skirt and a matching shirt. “Good morning, class.” She greeted, “I am Miss Squirrel.”
“We know.” One of the students said, he was a green hedgehog, he was wearing blue jeans and a red sweater.
“I was explaining things for our new student, Max.” Miss Squirrel explained, “Class, please welcome our new student, Shad the Hedgehog. Shad, please come over here so that everyone will see you.”
Shad did what his teacher told him to do, he looked at the students, they were all staring at him, Max gave him a friendly look, Shad did the same.. but what really caught his attention was a girl, she was a purple hedgehog, she had long purple hair (Or spines..WHATEVER!) and green eyes, she was wearing a white shirt and a short black skirt, “She’s BEAUTIFUL!” Shad thought, he also liked her friendly smile, “But I don’t know how she acts, maybe she’s some snob or something..”
“Class,” Miss Squirrel said, “let’s all greet Shad!”
“Hey!”
“Yo!”
“Hi!”
“Hello!”
Those were the words the students used to greet Shad. “Hi!” Shad finally said.
“Okay,” Miss Squirrel said, “you may return to your seat, Shad. Let’s begin our lesson now.”
Shad returned to his seat, he tried to forget about the girl until the bell rings.
RIIIIIING! The bell finally rang. Everyone got out of the class to get ready for their next class.
“I’ll ask Mina if she knows anything ‘bout that girl,” Shad thought.
“Hey.” Shad heard a voice from behind him, he turned and saw Max.
“Hey.” Shad said.
“Um, yeah, Shad, since you’re new here, it must be tough to find some friends,” Max explained, “did you make any friends so far?”
“Not really,” Shad admitted, “but I’m a friend of Mina the Mongoose.”
“You and Mina are friends?! Wow! Dude, you’re one lucky guy! I mean, you and Mina are dateing!”
“Um, we’re not really dating, we’re just friends.”
“Oh, well.. you can hang out with me and my friends anytime, and Mina can come too, if she wants..”
“Okay, thanks!”
“No problem, and.. can you do me a favor?”
“I can try.”
“Can you ask Mina if she knows that I exist?” Max said as he blushed.
“Uh.. Okay..”
“Thanks! Ooops, I gotta go now! I’ll see ya later!”
“Later!” Shad said, “Uh-oh! I’m gonna be late if I don’t hurry!” Shad ran to his next class he had to turn to the right two times, he turned for the first time, when he was about to turn again, he didn’t notice that..
BUMP!
Shad bumped into somebody and they both fell on the ground.
“Sorry..” Shad and the person said at the same time, the person had a soft voice, Shad looked at the person, he was embarrassed, the person was the same girl he saw, she was the purple hedgehog that had green eyes! “I feel like a dork!” Shad thought.
“Oh, you’re Shad! The new guy! I had math with you today!” the girl said.
“Oh, yeah! I remember you!”
“My name’s Melody Miller, it’s nice to finally meet you!”
“Uh, yeah.. it is nice to meet you, too!”
“Well, I’d love to stay here and chat.. but I have a class..”
“Uh, yeah! Me too!”
Melody grabbed her books that fell from her when she and Shad bumped.
“Uh, lemme help you with those!” Shad said as he helped Melody. When Melody reached for the last book, Shad reached for her hand.. he didn’t mean to do that, he wanted to grab the book for her. But when their hands met, there eyes did the same. They stared at each other..
“AHEM!” Someone said, “Don’t you two have classes?”
They turned and saw the principal, he looked angry.
“Oh, Sorry, Mr. Clark!” Melody said as she and Shad got up.
“Yeah,” Shad said, “sorry, sir.”
“I’d like to see you two after class! Now, go to your classes!”
“YESSIR!” They both said as they ran to their class.
